Review Summary

Gibeau Orange Julep is described as iconic and fun, with the giant orange building and the creamy, frothy orange julep that many say is the star of the experience. Reviewers praise the juice as refreshingly sweet and distinctive, though a few find it overly sugary or milky in texture, and some say the taste can vary by batch. The menu blends classic fast food such as hot dogs, poutine, and burgers with the famous orange drink, and portions and quality are uneven across visits, with some dishes praised and others criticized as overpriced for fast food. Parking is easy and the venue has a relaxed, nostalgic atmosphere, especially outdoors on sunny days, yet seating inside is limited and the space can feel crowded or touristy. Overall it remains a Montreal must for the orange juice and the iconic vibe, with strong opinions about value and consistency depending on what is ordered.

Nice food. The julep was not what I was expecting. I thought it was orange juice, but it's a sweet drink

I finally made it to Montreal's iconic Big Orange! My friend knew I had never been (after 26 years here) & suggested it. The food is good: quality hotdogs & tasty coleslaw & fries. Be sure to ask for salt for the fries, which are lightly salted. The namesake orange julep is delicious, but slightly too sweet. I would definitely go back & encourage all to try it.

We finally had a taste of the namesake beverage Orange Julep, it has a hint of orange, milk, sugar & vanilla. It's very good when its iced cold. Some reasonable wait time is needed while they prepare orders but the crew are relatively friendly & pleasant. There are plenty of outdoor seating surrounding the architecture, therés ample parking space as well- making the experience more like a drive-in feel. Their food is average but we enjoyed it because of the experience.

This is great comfort food from a Montreal icon. Sandwiches & things are great. Fries not so crispy, but plenty of them. & the orange julep is a treat worth trying. One last thing. For anyone else who finds this important, their hot dogs are all beef.

it's not just about the food-it's about the memories. So grab your orange, snap a pic with the Big Orange, & savor a taste of Montreal's past! 📸🇨🇦

Not sure how they did it, but the Orange drink triggered childhood memories of a Creamsicle with a wooden stick in it. The food is pricey, but is better than other fast food places. Service was fast AF too.

Service rapide.
