Review Summary

Gibeau Orange Julep is described as a Montreal icon and a must-visit for its giant orange building and signature frothy orange drink. The juice is repeatedly praised for being refreshing and uniquely creamy, though several reviews note that it can be very sweet and sometimes asks for balancing with ice cream or a larger amount of juice. Food offerings receive mixed signals, with poutine praised for richness and comfort by some and criticized as overpriced or mediocre by others, while hot dogs and fries are described as hit or miss. The atmosphere is celebrated for nostalgia and the open-air parking lot, but seating is limited and the place can feel touristy or crowded, especially during peak times. Overall, the orange juice remains the highlight, driving repeat visits even when some menu items disappoint and the value is questioned.

Ark. Plus jamais.

Getting a taste of Montreal history at the giant orange! 🍊✨
You can't say you've truly experienced the city until you've pulled up to Gibeau Orange Julep. Since 1932, this iconic 40-foot concrete orange has been serving up its legendary, creamy secret-recipe juice that tastes like a marshmallow cloud in a cup. ☁?🥤
Whether you're here for the vintage vibes, the classic poutine, or just to marvel at one of the world's quirkiest roadside attractions, it's a Montreal rite of passage. Pro tip: It's even better at sunset when the sphere starts to glow! 🌅

Gross'orange juice', just full of sugar & no actual oranges used. The food is also appalling & not worth paying for.

the best orange juice I've ever had. Cute setup with the big orange in the middle of the parking lot. Quick service & open late which is great when you're out exploring the city during the day.

I went there Saturday night (January 17th) & one of the girls working behind the counter was so rude for no reason. I ordered a poutine & a pogo. They handed me a bag with just a poutine without saying anything. I politely said'sorry, I'm just missing the pogo' & she barely looks at me & says'it's coming, don't worry' with such a condescending tone & attitude. No one ever told me that I had to wait for it, so it's fair to ask when you're handing out others FULL orders.

Visited the iconic Orange Julep-what a perfect way to end our trip before heading back to Toronto! Our hotel had free breakfast, but we had a terrible experience there, so I was really excited to come here. I actually visited with my family back in 2004 with my dad's car club-I was only 4, so memories are fuzzy, but I've always wanted to return.

We tried the hot dog, poutine, & of course the famous orange juice, & everything was absolutely perfect. Truly a nostalgic & delicious experience that already makes me miss Montreal!

Gibeau Orange Julep is an absolute must-visit spot in Montreal! The atmosphere is incredibly unique with that iconic giant orange structure-it feels like stepping back in time. Their signature Orange Julep drink is creamy, refreshing, & unlike anything else I've ever tasted. You also have to try the poutine; the fries are perfectly crispy & the gravy is rich & flavorful. It's the perfect place for classic comfort food & a fun retro vibe. I can't wait to go back!
