The designer Jacques Gaspo from Foodtastic (behind La Belle & La Boeuf, Souvlaki Bar, Carlos & Pepe’s, Le Blossom, the new Nickels and Bacaro Pizzeria) developed Gatto Matto over a two year period. A revolutionary and Avant-Garde Art Deco concept with a flower bar theme that is a fusion between Chicago and Italy. Using premium materials designed and manufactured in Montreal, the elements marry themselves wonderfully. Bright and vibrant colors give a WOW factor that will make you feel like in a modern Milan hotel with a girly touch. The creation of the open kitchen concept never seen before in the Montreal area (in collaboration with Hagop Hagopian, director of operations at Foodtastic and expert in kitchen design) allows you to see the best chefs in the region at work. Gorgeous restaurant with excellent food (I really enjoyed the Pizza with Prosciutto Di Parma). 🍕 Our server, Veronica, was very kind & knowledgeable about the menu. Food was good was decent . The pizza was too doughy on the crust. The appetizers was the star of the meal very crispy & perfectly cooked calamari. The pistachio pasta was also pretty good. The fior di late tagliatelle was very basic something that I was expecting to be a lot better. Our server was amazing explained the menu well kept our water refilled. The atmosphere on the other hand was not great, the music was super loud, to speak across the table we had to almost yell. Ended the night with Tylenol for a headache. The music could lowered a little bit & it would be a perfect evening.View more

The table we reserved was given to us later than our booking time,so the host send us some free pizza as an appology.

J'ai été souper avec ma famille au Gatto Matto. L'endroit était propre & moderne. L'ambiance était très agréable.🤩
Nous avons pris en entrée la burrata, la pieuvre & les calmars frits. Nous avons ensuite pris comme repas principal le steak du chef, les pâtes, la pizza & le poisson du jour. Chaque assiette fut EXCELLENTE! Très belle présentation & les saveurs étaient au rendez-vous.
Je tiens aussi à souligner le service hors-pair de notre serveur Mickael!

I was at Gatto Matto on a Sunday afternoon, working as a photographer for a private event.
The service was exceptionally good; the entire staff is very attentive, professional & pleasant.
The location was clean & attractive.
To top it off, although I was busy working, I was given a complimentary pizza to take home & enjoy. I'm really happy because it was delicious. Tasty topping with a crust that was extraordinary.

I loved everything about this restaurant! So convenient to the Courtyard by Marriott, at Place Bell. The vibe is funky like a restobar & they have a dj some nights. Highly recommend the grilled octopus, brussel sprouts, prosciutto pizza, pistachio tartufo, & nutella bomboloni. I will be trying to copy the first three, they were amazing!!! Generous wine pour too on our Sangiovese. All smiles leaving Gatto matto.View more

Great choice if you're going to Center Bell or not. The staff was friendly & quick to take our orders. They have a varried drink menu as well as their food menu. Delicious Italian food! If you like calamari, tartares, pasta, pizza, & parmesan fries, then go eat there. The portion size of the main dishes isn't big, but the quality is spot on! The fries were a large amount & mouth watering!View more

Went there for a table of 2 it took a while for the food to arrive & the food was very mid you could get the same tasting pizza at papa's john. I never leave review but i was very disappointing. Also the drinks were too sweet couldn't taste the wine in the sangria. Would recommend going to Sergiolino & Rosso Cielo more or even Labelle & La Boeuf fir their price range & the quality of the foodView more

Visiting this restaurant when staying at the courtyard across the street. The decoration is amazing & very modern look. We were seated right away for a party of 8 with no reservation. To start off a little positive - their pizza was really good & just the right level of crispiness. Awesome French fries too! However, we found the calamari was extremely salty & very dried out. That being said, I can't give this place more than 3 stars. For starters, we were a large group of 8 that pretty much ordered right away...& it took over two hours to get our food (no exaggeration). Secondly, I am all for some music to add some ambiance, however, the music was so incredibly loud we couldn't hear anything. My ears were actually ringing by the time we left the restaurant. There's a difference between mood music & concert music. We had to practically yell at the waitress to place our order. Also, our table seemed to be completely forgotten (& we were in the dark) about. To get our water glasses refilled was non existent. I'm disappointed because I really wanted to love this place! The decor is super nice & the food wasn't bad at all...but definitely needs to improve their service & overall ambiance (music, lighting etc..).View more

Super belle expérience. Tout d'abord l'endroit est très beau & sophistiqué. Il y a beaucoup d'espaces & une terrasse extérieure. Le service est courtois mais in peu lent. Par contre ils étaient conscients de ce problème & s'en sont excusés. Les plats sont très bien présentés & sortent de l'ordinaire. La lasagne 50 étages ou le choux-fleur cacio e pepe par exemple font partie des plats emprunt d'originalité. La qualité est au rendez-vous & le prix est tout de même très raisonnable. Même la salade cesar est excellente, on a même penser en commander une deuxième. Ce qu'on avait fait avec le choux-fleur en entrée. C'était vraiment un coup de coeur, je vous le conseille fortement. Les pâtes au pesto & burrata... wow. Comme en Italie, yes I said it. Crémeuse, goûteuse & généreuse. Un excellent choix, peut-être même le meilleur plat de pâtes de l'endroit. Coté pizza, elles sont toutes excellentes.... je ne saurais pas dire laquelle est la meilleure. Pour vrai, j'ai été agréablement surpris mais à y penser, la bouffe italienne de la région de Montréal est vraiment très bonne & n'a pas à rougir devant ce qui se fait en Italie sauf à ce qui a attrait à la fraîcheur de certain ingrédients bien entendu. Gnocchi par contre manquait un peu de sauce !? mais les gnocchis ainsi que le peu de sauce qu'il y avait c'était bon , meme tres bon!!! Bravo pour votre bonne cuisine ! Prix tres raisonnable pour 2024. J'y étais pour l'heure du lunch (midi) & pas de musique de fond ( un peu plate) ! Nous étions 2 . Un soir d'événement à la Place Bell , resto plein mais bon roulement pareil & temps d'attente raisonnable. Sangria excellente , pizza burrata & pistache wow coup de coeur , les frites parmesan & ail je ne les reprendrais pas . Absolutely loved this restaurant! We started off with drinks : the lychee martini, Classico caesar, blood orange mule & the paloma. All were received very well but the paloma was stronger than all the rest. I then got my appetizer, fried calamari & I loved it! Perfect crisp. For our mains we got the rigatoni pasta, 50 layer lasagna, seafood linguini & the margherita pizza. The two girls who got the lasagna said it was just average. The pizza & rigatoni were amazing though. I had gotten the seafood linguini & it was also average to me. I loved the shrimp & calamari in it though. Our waitress was super sweet & the service was good. The inside of the restaurant really makes it what it is. Just beautiful!! We had a concert at Place Bell the same night, & the restaurant was right next to the venue, so it was perfect. I would recommend this to anyone who is in the area.View more

My friends & I went for dinner last night. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of the food. Our appetizers were calamari which were very good & radicchio & endive salad which was fantastic! I had the mortadella & burrata pizza, it was delicious. My friends each had pasta & loved it. The espresso martini was very good too. I will definitely return to this restaurant however I will go on a weekday or earlier in the evening (on a weekend) because it is extremely loud in there & can barely hear anyone talk.View more

Coming in, the reservation was very smooth & quick to be seated at our table @9:15. Afterwards, we placed our order (1 pizza, 1 pasta & fries) @9:20. We got our fries within 10 minutes but we we got the rest at almost 10:20. It took almost an hour for us to get our food & the pasta was very undercooked. We understand that they might've been busy but it is half full & i doubt it takes an hour to cook both our pasta & pizza properly. The only time our waiter came to check on us, she said it's coming soon & it came 30 minutes after. Very disappointing for a special occasion. The best part: Dj was killing it. Reality: Upsetting & maybe wouldn't come back.View more

Nous y somme allé pour la première fois & vraiment nous avons tombé en amour ! Une endroit tellement magnifique, ambiance chaleureuse & feutrée ! Tout est excellent, si vous aimez les pizzas ou pâtes, vous allez être servis !
Les cocktails sont incroyables, n'ayez pas peur de donner carte blanche au barman & mention spécial à Mathieu derrière le bar qui nous a concocté d'excellent & irrésistible cocktail, très professionnelle & très bon mixologue! Mention spécial également à Amélie pour son service incroyable derrière le bar, a l'écoute de ses clients... toujours souriante ! Nous avons été servi comme des Rois!
Assurément un incontournable...
