Great spot in old town Montreal. I was there solo for less than 24 hours in a work trip & was looking to have a nice meal. I got the 6 course tasting menu with the blue crab toast add on. Would say that the crab toast & the seafood platter were my favorite dishes but everything was well made & delicious! That said, I felt the sauce on the last dish was a bit too heavy in butter & not well seasoned enough. Overall though, I had a good meal. It was on the pricy side but worth it!
Also the espresso martinis fantastic, & if you can, I'd sit at the bar & hang with Emma! She's the best!!
Incredible, just moved to Montreal & this is going to be a regular spot , now I understand that 5 star experience ! Thank you
Go, it is one of the best restaurants I've been. Highly recommended. Find it by the address . The table was ready at 8 sharp. You need to make a reservation.
Loved the food! Great atmosphere & service was the best we had in Montreal.
My two favorite meals of all time both came from garde manger. I don't think 5 stars is enough. Everything is done perfectly & it will go down as my favorite restaurant of all time
We had dinner here while visiting in town for my birthday. This was a very good choice indeed. Cooking recipes from chef Hughes at home, was interested in seeing where it was coming from & how it was made in house.
We opted for the tasting menu with all the bells & whistles. (Go big or stay home we say). Everything was top notch. The surprise dish for us was a carrot'3 way' side dish. It was absolutely fantastic with a slow cooked carrot purée on the bottom that I want to have every day of my life.
Chef Hughes did come over & talk to us for awhile, which was a great surprise & made the experience for my birthday oh so special.
Thank you to the team at Garde Manger for making it special.
Always a great time, amazing food & festive atmosphere. You can never go wrong here!
I just had the best meal, evening, atmosphere, service EVER! Almost forgot, music.

Highly recommend you will not be disappointed. We spent the weekend in mtl from Toronto & ended up there 2 nights out of the 3. Once for dinner & once to finish off our night with drinks because the vibe was just so good & all the staff was so friendly. The food was outstanding & drinks were on point.
Dinned here for my girlfriend's & I anniversary. What an absolute treat. From incredible food, to friendly & professional service that payed attention to every detail. We took the 4 course chef menue & it did not disappoint. 100% will come back. This is a Montreal gem not to be missed.

Tourist trap.
Absurd & misleading experience. The food is cafeteria level. The pretentious, fancy BS dished out by the overbearing waiters isn't able to conceal the fact that the plates you'll end up with are an insult to taste, intelligence & your pocketbook. Rarely have I been so angered by what amounts to being scammed.
If you know the original versions of the dishes they pretend to make, you'll feel the owners of this place are either clueless or cynically believe you are.
This is apparently designed as a trap for those American tourists whose culinary culture is un-developed & who will swallow the whole charade, feeling validated by having paid more for their meal than they did for their hotel room.
Avoid if you have a modicum of self-esteem.
Wow wow wow wow. Food was an amazing experience! Get the chef's choice for sure. Service was amazing. Everyone there makes you feel like you're the only one there. Highly recommend.
Very lively, very friendly staff. Food was superb. Highly recommend!! Ambiance was great!
Merci beaucoup! What a fantastic experience. I ordered the chef's choice & was not disappointed from appetizers to dessert, every single bite was absolutely delicious. The bartender, a young woman, was both professional & impressively knowledgeable about wine & cocktails. The service, ambiance & music top notch. Highly recommended if you only have time for one restaurant in Montreal, make it this one!
Had an outstanding dinner here with my husband & a friend visiting from LA. The venue is warm, cozy, & intimate. The host/ maitre'd, Nicholas gave us a warm welcome, shook our hands, & promptly seated us to a lovely seat in the front. The waiter was exceptional- professional, prompt, & attentive. The food is superb & the drinks were great! This place is a MUST!!!
I have now been here 5 times, one better than the next. We usually come on Sundays, city slowing down, sun already down & this place just brings us back to life. The restaurant manager, Dave, has been gracious to help us find times even on busy nights & Jordan + the entire wait staff is pure class. Absolutely pure class.
The food - is also great. I had a top 5 ranked restaurant in North America (in Montreal) the night prior to our most recent Garde Manger stop & without any doubt, I enjoyed GM more. Ambience, taste, service - all extraordinary. Yes, you should like shellfish if you come here'. I'd say no, it's not mandatory.
Overall - old port dinner, old port atmosphere, & Montreal / québécois service. Look absolutely no further.
I miss what this restaurant used to be. The food was mediocre at best & the steak dish had clearly been sitting for a while, served on the cooler side & the sauce had congealed on the plate. The service is also not what it used to be. & cocktails, while very good, were this side of $30 each - ridiculous. I don't mind a dinner for two coming in at $300+ but expectations come along with that price tag & this experience came no where near.
