The food was very good & it came fast, but my plate of Udon noodles was so small & there was barely any beef that I walked away still hungry. I know we are in tough times, but noodles aren't that expensive that you have to cheap out like that. I won't be back for sure.View more
Service is good. Fries really salty. Carbonaro udon tastes plain. Bulgagi rice tastes plain, no flavor.View more
It's a Korean fusion cuisine restaurant. For appetizers, we ordered Tteokkochi. As main dishes, we had the Udon Butter Chicken (noodles with chicken) & the Curry Katsu (rice with chicken). The food was amazing, full of flavor, & the quality was excellent for the price!View more
We ordered a grilled calmar which tasted very bitter & when we complained about it they said we need to pay it off! It was very difficult to eat rice & chicken with a wooden spoon & they refused to give us a fork as "outside" we can only have the wooden spoons given for takeout. The food was tasteless & one of the dishes gave us a bad stomach ache, the mojito also was bland. The outside was not so clean & stinky. The glass had a big stain of sauce on the rim. Not recommended at all!View more
We had high hopes for Ganadara because of the promise of halal Korean food, but it was a bit of a disappointment. The spicy rice cakes came in a sauce that tasted like canned Chef Boyardee tomato sauce. The chicken katsu curry was $21, but for just a very simple gravy on a bed of rice. Not a vegetable in sight. The tofu bibimbap had just a thin strip of tofu skin as the protein. Maybe we ordered incorrectly, but we left underwhelmed.View more
An amazing place to go after work for food or just to be with friends. I recommend getting the Curry Chicken Katsu, just make sure to ask for extra rice!View more
Highlight of the meal : Tteokkocchi. The ricecakes were cooked to perfection (soft yet crispy outside) & the sauce had a great balance of sweet & spicy. That's all. The service was a tad slow & it was too hot where we were seated for some reason. Couldn't find where it was coming from but I could feel the hot air on my legs & on my face, which made the experience a little uncomfortable. Food wise, it was disappointing. We ordered their cheese katsu/tonkatsu because it looked so good on the reel they made to advertise it but we were met with huge disappointment. The corn salad was edible but it seems like they used mayo & ketchup as it's dressing? Also the katsu was half the size of what they had advertised & came out very dry & toasty. It gave us the impression that they may have forgotten it in the oven or something since it did take some time. The rice was also dry & hard. Overall, not sure if I'd go back again. It's such a shame because I was a huge fan of OG ganadara but this doesn't come close to it at all :(.View more
It was alright. It's definitely not like the old ganadara & it's for sure not authentic Korean food. The rice is stale & hard. The curry tastes very similar to the Japanese box curries. Honestly, I would suggest Moa Moa which is a couple of doors down for a more authentic Korean experience.View more
Great place to eat on a cold winter day! Highly recommend the crispy rice cakes as an app. Broth was rich & flavorful as well. Service was good, if not a little slow.View more
Not my favourite place. The chicken tasted like it had freezer burn, the restaurant was smoky & not well ventilated & the udon had way too much sauce on it. Very salty. The only redeeming dish was the rice cakeView more
It took 90 minutes to get our food & the restaurant was not busy. After waiting for our food to arrive for an excessive amount of time to begin with, we were told that it would be another 20 minutes (which turned out to be 30 minutes) because they ran out of rice & had to make a new batch. I have never heard of an Asian (or any restaurant) running out of rice!!! We all had rice dishes & were not offered something to eat in the meantime. It took a full 90 minutes for our food to come out from when we walked into the restaurant. My Bipimbap was not sizzling like my husband's. The server said it was cooked for the same amount of time. I am accustomed to a crispy rice bottom & this one was soggy & the dish lukewarm. The server said that sometimes this happens even if they were cooked for the same time & offered to heat if up but I was starving at this point so accepted it as it was. We were offered a 15% discount for the wait - meanwhile we had to keep feeding the meter because the dinner was much longer than we had allowed for. A free noodle dish or appetizers that we could eat in the meantime would have been appreciated so we didn't have to starve & watch the non-rice eaters come & go while we sat & waited or more than a mere 15% for that experience. The server was pleasant but I assume she didn't have the authority to be be more generous or accommodating. Very disappointed.
Loved the original Ganadara at Guy-Concordia. This location doesn't live up to the original - this is a poorly executed franchise. The food was all off in flavour & texture & don't get me started on the rice - this is a rice forward restaurant & the rice was terrible! Sadly, we won't be returning.View more
