Fuwa Fuwa delivers light, fluffy Japanese-style pancakes and a playful robot that brings food to the table, sometimes even singing a birthday tune; reviews highlight flavors like tiramisu, matcha, pistachio and croffles, and the overall vibe is cozy and dessert focused, making it a fun spot for families or a casual outing, though wait times can be long and prices feel steep, with experiences ranging on service and cleanliness.
Wait time for pancakes is ridiculous. There were 6 staff members working the kitchen, all tending to my 2 little pancakes & it still took 20 minutes to receive my order. The place was empty, no excuse for it taking that long
I was honestly looking forward to try this place. The employees working the counter do really try hard to give you a good service however the kitchen design it's horrible. I ordered 1 tiramisu pancake at 12:59pm. It is now 2:05pm & I still haven't received my order.....
I recommend if you have time to wait. Very delicious, fluffy, & flavourful pancakes. Slightly eggy but I like that. Seating was available for our wait. A worker informed us in advance of a 30-35min wait time, which is unreasonably long just from watching the relatively slow kitchen. Some of the workers were very friendly & professional, but I noticed a worker take a sip from their drink & place it right next to the griddle, which is not food safe. Another had no apron or hat/hairnet & a very wet shirt while handling clean utensils.
Thankfully I didn't have to wait to order but I did have to wait about 30 minutes to get my tiramisu souffle pancake. I was so sad they were out of the matcha & red bean one. I had a few souffle pancakes before & visually, it was the shortest souffle pancakes I ever had (2 layers). As for the taste, well it was light, chocolaty & just sweet enough. It's good as a snack although around 15$. Overall, it's ok & I may go back from time to time if it's not too busy.
These pancakes are nothing special Japanese. They are just slightly soft pancakes that can be found anywhere. If this were in Japan, it would be $5. The location is very convenient & the store is clean. Lines were gone in less than a month after opening. However, even if there is no one in front of you, you will have to wait 15-20 minutes for take-out. The main problem is that the prices are surprisingly high for this quality. The staff is friendly, but most importantly, I can't see the value in repeating this content. The reviews & ratings speak for themselves.
I loved the ambiance ocer there with the balcony!! I taught the pancakes tasted a bit too much like eggs but the oreo cream on the cookies & cream pancake was amaziiiiing! Also, the cashier was soooo nice & sweet with us! Lovely
Staff were very nice & happy to remake my drink when i said i didnt like it sparkly/fizzy Pancake were a little on the eggie side but besides that very good

Tried it for the first time, the tiramisu pancake, light but didn't taste much tiramisu. The staff kind but it takes long time to get the order, maybe the place is new & they lack experience. 🤩😁
Honestly, my expectations were high as I had been to Fuwa Fuwa Toronto, just so mesmerized with the whole experience of having these souffle pancakes. Really looking forward to those pancakes in Montreal, the whole experience didn't go as expected & was pretty disappointing. We were told at the time of ordering that there is a 45 min to an hour wait, which was a buzz kill, but that's fine understandable they had just gotten over with a big rush as mentioned by the cashier. I also ordered 2 pancakes & a drink, for which they charged me (drink) $7 pretax when the price on the menu was $6, & when I asked, the manager returned the difference. Didn't understand why there was a discrepancy. Once we got our pancakes, they felt very flat. They didn't taste how we remembered them to be. There was nothing special as if it was missing something. The drink I ordered was a chocolate frappe which was just ice, I had to go to the manager & ask her to make it again. Which she kindly did, & it tasted 1000 times better. I did feel there were too many people behind that counter, & no one was properly managed. Like they all were doing their own thing. Genuinely felt a leader was missing there. I could just look at them & tell them the issues. If there are systems set in place & they are more organized, I am 1000 % sure they have the capability to do so much better. (This was the most surprising part for me) It's funny enough to say, when they are opening a new store in a new place. They decided two have two kitchen aid mixers to make the pancake batter, which was so surprising that one person was just making the batter continuously as they were running out of it so quickly because of the rush.
