Review Summary

Foil Gallery is widely recognized for its unique, aesthetically pleasing industrial design and its innovative concept as a contemporary art gallery and café. Many visitors praise the high quality of the specialty drinks, particularly the matcha and creative seasonal lattes, and appreciate the immersive atmosphere that combines rotating art exhibits with a stylish, modern interior. While the space is frequently described as a refreshing and creative destination to enjoy art and refreshments, feedback regarding the overall experience is mixed. Some patrons highlight exceptional, friendly service and a welcoming environment, whereas others note inconsistencies in staff interaction, perceiving a sense of elitism or a lack of warmth. Additionally, while the beverage quality is consistently lauded, some visitors find the limited food selection and premium pricing to be drawbacks, with several reviewers expressing frustration regarding the expectation of tips at the point of sale.

We tried the iced matcha latte, iced vanilla latte, iced chai latte, & the iced hibiscus; they were not worth the money. The coffee beans were bitter & sour. The matcha was overpriced. We've tried matcha/coffee from Toronto, LA, New York, & many major hubs in North America. They were all much better & reasonably priced. (For all those commenting this was the best coffee/matcha… please review your tastebuds). The matcha was $13!!! That's an insane price for matcha & the cup wasn't even full. Don't get me started on the 25 cent charge (per drink) if you're getting takeout… newsflash, this isn't BC. The iced chai latte was unbelievably sweet even after adjusting the sugar. At least the girls working there were so sweet (just like that chai latte). We didn't try any pastries so can't really comment on those but the drinks were NOT worth it, don't waste your money! All for supporting small businesses however this was extremely disappointing considering the amount of the good reviews :(

Me & my husband came here on a Sunday. It was lovely the staff were very helpful & super welcoming. Lou & Kieran were very sweet. We tried the iced matcha latte with almond milk , one was butterscotch flavored & the other was salted caramel both were super yummy🥰

The sheer number of tiny beanies in this place was astonishing. The staff were lovely but this cafe is desperately self-aware of itself despite wanting to come off as the opposite. Charging $7 for a latte & then starting off the tip options on the card terminal at 18% should have been a massive red flag. The concrete cafe epidemic is unfortunately really sinking its teeth into Montreal.

I love the concept of this place - a café mixed with a rotating gallery. The space is beautifully designed & not overcrowded with art, so it feels intentional & easy to take in. The art on display wasn't totally my thing when I went, but that actually makes me want to come back & see what's next.

Had a latte (~$8) that was fine, nothing special, but the experience is really the main draw here. Definitely worth checking out if you like art, design, or unique spaces.

Service with a smile, great space, interesting art & an immersive room. I had a nice relaxing time with a nice croissant & a matcha latte. I just wished there was more to eat. All pastries were pretty much gone.

Cependant, l'expérience café me laisse perplexe.

Beautiful art gallery & cafe! They have a beautiful/unique interior with tables to get work done, beautiful outdoor patio to relax, & just outside they have a beautiful community benches & shared spaces. Their coffee drinks are unique & delicious, I would recommend trying their peach latte. Added bonus the cafe smells like a luxury fragrance shop, the barista is super friendly. Slight little down side is that it's a dairy free cafe, but they do have a ton of alternative milks to choose from & I honestly couldn't tell the difference.

A small peach & cream latte priced at 10$ that comes out at 12$ w. taxes + they have the audacity to put the starting tips option at 18% when they don't even bring the coffee to you, yikes. But hey, the decor is nice?

The place is beautiful & very brutalist. The art & setting is elevated; the place is really a one of a kind. A bit shocked by a $8.50 pre tax matcha latte but a fair price considering the experience. The immersive art experience is a wonderful touch btw. I didn't have the influencer infestation issue as we went on a quiet Sunday. As for the wall art, it' nice but it could be a bit more diverse & reminds me of Abercrombie & Fitch circa 2010.
