I was not sure about the social media hype about his chicken. I was mentioning to people about how good it looks, someone already ate there said: not that good. I did not believe them. I went there today. I was so disappointed. First, too expensive compared to others. Second, shishtaouk skewers dry & has a weird flavor. Could be safran or other spices which is not a representation of a typical lebanese chicken. In a main dish, no salade served. Fries are so so. & last, as a lebanese, i can't believe the taste of the garlic sauce.
Recommendation: you.might win the social media but this will not last long. Give the taste of your chicken before it is too late.
I was so excited , hoping to taste a traditional lebanese chicken sandwich. Just grilling it does jot make it wow. The flavor is within.
Taste: Super delicious 5/5
Price: Good 4/5
Service: 3/5 The staff member (Food Runner) on duty was inexperienced. I ordered to dine in, but he packed my food in a takeaway bag. When I told him it was for dine-in, he simply placed the bag onto a tray & handed it to me. He wasn't very hospitable either-he didn't ask if I wanted any sauces or provide any napkins. When I asked for ketchup & mayonnaise, he just pointed at the ketchup packets & didn't offer any garlic sauce (toum) or mayonnaise.
The sandwiches are overpriced & seem to have more sauce than actual filling. There was barely any chicken, & that's basically all you taste. A better balance between sauce & ingredients would make a big difference, along with more generous & evenly distributed filling.
We paid $55.99 for the promotion, which included 4 sandwiches, 4 cans of soda, & only 2 small orders of fries. For that price, the portion size is disappointing, & the promotion doesn't even make sense. Marketing-wise, it feels like the focus is on upselling rather than offering real value. A clearer promotion design with more balanced sides would make the offer feel much fairer. Why include 4 sandwiches & 4 drinks but only 2 small fries?
We also ordered the fries sandwich, but once again it was mostly bread & sauce, with barely any fries inside. Improving the ingredient distribution would help a lot, since the sandwich should actually reflect what it promises.
Overall, I think this place is overhyped. I was really looking forward to trying it, but I left very disappointed with my experience. With better portion balance, clearer promotions, & more consistent ingredient distribution, it could be much better.
As a Vietnamese person, I can't claim to be an expert on authentic Lebanese food, especially since so many places offer fusion or Westernized versions.
I noticed some reviews mentioning the wait time, but I think we have become so accustomed to everything being fast that we sometimes forget quality food takes time. Especially flavourful, charcoal-grilled meat.
While waiting, we had the pleasure of speaking with Lebanese customers who came all the way from Brossard. They told us the food tasted very close to home, even to what they have eaten in Lebanon, which was very reassuring.
We ordered the musahab sandwich & the kebab sandwich. Both were delicious, although the musahab was my personal favourite. For anyone who enjoys spicy food, ask for the spicy sauce. It adds the perfect kick without overpowering the flavours.
We were there at 2:30 PM & it was busy. We left at 4:00 & the line got even longer. It is a little far from where I live, but honestly, this place is worth the detour.
Great job to the entire team!
My husband asked more than once for my sandwich to be made without garlic sauce. He mentioned it when ordering at the cashier, & when the order was ready, he asked again just to make sure. The employee assured him that there was no garlic sauce in the sandwich.
When we got home, the sandwich was covered in garlic sauce. This is honestly unacceptable. If a customer repeats a request many times, it should be taken seriously. It was a complete waste of our time & money. Very disappointing.
The food quality is excellent, & the whole chicken is a standout dish. However, there are a few areas that could be improved to enhance the overall customer experience. Specifically, the portion sizes-particularly the fries-feel disproportionate to the higher pricing. Additionally, proactively including extra garlic sauce with orders, rather than requiring customers to request it, would be a welcome touch. Ultimately, I deducted two stars due to these concerns regarding overall value & portion generosity.
I tried Abo Alabed for the first time yesterday. To be honest, I wasn't expecting it to be this good because the reviews were a bit mixed. We ordered the regular & spicy musahab sandwiches along with a whole grilled chicken, & everything was absolutely delicious.
We enjoyed it so much that we went back again today & ordered the same thing. The grilled chicken was tender, juicy, & full of flavor-not dry at all. It was perfectly seasoned without being overpowering.
The musahab sandwich was amazing. The balance between the garlic sauce & the chicken was just right, & every bite was fresh & flavorful.
I also have to mention how incredibly clean the restaurant was. It honestly reminded me of being back home, both in terms of the cleanliness & the quality of the food.
Definitely a 10/10. I'll definitely be coming back!
Super accueillant surtout de la part de Chef Hussein. La nourriture est vraiment bonne , leur sauce aussi. Le poulet est tendre aussi. Belle expérience
