Sérieusement je me sent prank
If you read my other reviews, you'll see that I am a HUGE CARNIVORE, however, this vegetarian place can satisfy even the biggest meat eater out there. Food was fantastic, bakery products were delicious, & Shani the server, is pretty much the reason I would ever go back. Tell her what you want & how many people you want to feed, & she'll tell you what you need, not what you want, & IN A GOOD WAY. Her suggestions & pleasantry is a model for all other restaurants out there! It's more of a grab & go type of place with limited high-stool seating. Parking is not the best but worth the trip nonetheless. Food was fresh, service was great, & bakery goods for dessert were yummy. Vegetarian only, falafels, sharwama, shish taouk, pitas, salads, cookies, cakes, you can't go wrong……🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Pita falafel is fresh & delicious. Way better than what you'll find in other restaurants. The lady that runs the place is so friendly & caring, she'll make you feel at home. I will go back as often as I can.
Still the best. Go spicy for the full experience.
I'll never understand how people give this place a 1 or 2 star review. This is BY FAR the best falafel you can buy in southern Ontario/Quebec. I'm from Toronto & HAVE to come here every time I visit Montreal. The falafel pitas & pita plates are making my mouth water just thinking about it. I must confess that I wake up in the middle of the night thinking of when I get to go back to Falafel St Jacques. I yearn for this falafel, & yet it is only half the story. This establishment has the audacity to serve mushroom based meat that had me fooled for well over 6 years. The General Tso Chicken, Mongolian Beef, & the orange ginger chicken are Montreals best kept secret. Seriously, I haven't told my Toronto friends about this place because I'm scared it will get too busy.
Delicious vegan food! We got the shawarma & falafel pita with salads. Highly recommended, delicious & fast service. You can also purchase ready to eat meals for home.
I am editing my review from 4 years back. Amazing Vegan food, must must try!!! Very fresh & authentic taste. We tried the falafel pita wrap, shitake plate, baklawa, pistachio sweet. I bet anything you try here is amazing. I specifically was looking to visit this place from Toronto & have recommended this to 5 others who love it. Must visit if you are visiting Montreal & looking for fresh food. Requesting the owner to open a branch in Toronto!
10.99$ for 5 pita bread on DoorDash?! 11$ for a small container of hummus?
Hummus was great, pita bread, while it's the only actual pita in Montreal, not the freshest & charging over 2$ for each small pita bread should be corrected. Even 6$ for 5 pita was pricy.
Hummus & falafel itself are hands down the easily the best in Montreal .
Making the price humane will move my rating to 4 stars. Making sure the pita is fresh & it has the potential of a 5 stars.
Edit: price now is 17$ on DoorDash for hummus & pita which is still pricy but rating did go up to 4.
Amazing authentic Falafel, in real middle eastern pita, with delicious Humus. None of that dry paper thin pita you find in most places, but the real deal. Great Burekas, great service, huge portions. This place is amazing & reminds me of back home. Definitely worth coming back to again & again & again!
We stumbled across Falafel St. Jacques looking for spots on our way back to Old Montreal from the airport. It was our favorite meal so far in 3 days of this trip! Easily one of the best meals I've had recently in general.
My family eats a lot of falafel & shawarma in California, & this was one of the best I've had. For 12$ USD, we each got a pita sandwich & choice of two sides & a drink! I had the Jerusalem trio pita with tabbouleh & mushrooms - so flavorful. My dad got the same with baba ghanoush & eggplant, which were divine. Probably could have taken home leftovers, but it was all too good not to finish right away.
The staff were incredibly friendly & welcoming. We could have stayed & talked with them for hours. We even got recommendations for our next stop in Quebec City. The team said they cook for other like they cook at their homes, & you can taste the love.
Everything was so fresh & flavorful. I WISH we had a Falafel St. Jacques in our hometown - I'd go every day!
Awesome middle eastern falafel joint. Definitely a local joint half way btwn montreal & YUL airport. Generous portions, well constructed pita sandwiches. Great fries. Trio gets you choice of pita sandwich two salads, or delicious double fried fries, & a soft drink. Fantastic value. Amd very friendly owner & staff. Unbelievable find!!!
So good. The closest to the real thing in Montreal.
You already know the Falafel is good, but don't sleep on the other sandwiches. Homemade pita too 🤤
I like the falafel & the sides but they can do better with bread. What they offer now is pita from supper market.
Best falafel & best babaganoush literally ever. The pita is addictive. Don't even consider going anywhere else. If you want falafel you want to go to this place.
My husband & I LOVE-LOVE-LOVE this place. It's our go-to place for Sabich & Falafel pitas! The staff is so amazing, especially the woman at the cash, she is just the sweetest. Amazing service, never disappointed! Always a pleasure to eat at Falafel St Jacques. Highly recommend :)
As someone who has grown up with this type of food I can say this is as good as back home . Everything is absolutely fresh , 100% vegan & each plate come with a choice of 6 salads . Portions are more than very generous & prices very reasonable . Place is small & to beat line ups best to go before 5;30 pm or after 7 pm . Everything is also avaliable for take out as a plate or each item also sold separately , baked items made on premises great & best pita bread outside the middle east .
A hidden gem for vegatarian dining. I had the falafel pita & pineapple chicken & it was phenomenal. Easily the best falafel I have ever had & I would never guess the pineapple chicken is made from mushrooms. The service was great too, the staff were very polite & made the experience feel like eating with family. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if visiting Montréal!
Please don't go left & right Falafel St Jacques is the best in Montreal "Point Final". You can't find a fresher sandwich in town. The pita is baked in house, the falafels are crunchy & fried in front of you. If you are a fan of spicy food let them know & they will take care of you. This place is a heaven for vegans 🌱 & will definitely put a smile on your face after the first bite 😊
