Chocolate heaven! If you love chocolate as much as we do, État de choc is THE place to visit in Montréal. There is an embarrassment of chocolate riches in this city, but if you're looking for some of the best bar chocolate, start running. There are numerous local, Canadian artisans, including État de choc's own line (which is excellent!), as well as many international makers. All small batch, hand crafted with the utmost care & exceptional ingredients. They also have hot cocoa mixes & you can even create your own gift box of bars. The customer service is top notch as lovely Ella helped us navigate the store & the seemingly endless options. She was so knowledgeable & kind, providing many suggestions as she's tried almost all of the chocolate in the store. She's got the best job in the world! It was an exercise in self-control for us not to buy every bar, but a great excuse for us to stop by again. Highly recommend experiencing their beautiful store, it is a truly wonderful & experience! We can't wait to try more of their chocolate!🫶🏽🍫
Assez ordinaire de la part de la vendeuse (celle qui est toujours là & qui devrait se pratiquer un peu plus côté sociabilité) de nous dire qu'elle ne comprend pas le chinois car elle ne comprenait pas ce que ma mère asiatique demandait (elle voulait simplement avoir plus de renseignement sur un des chocolats & elle a demandé ceci en anglais). Je m'y attendais pas d'entendre cette commentaire raciste à une boutique de chocolat haute gamme. Les chocolats sont excellents, mais le service rendu nous a laissé un goût extrêmement amer.
Comme on dit en anglais:'do better'. À une boutique d'haute gamme, il devrait avoir une service d'haute gamme en conséquence & pas des commentaires racistes.
P.S. Si un client achète un bar de chocolat, vous le mettez dans un sac, aucune question. Si cinq personnes achètent chacune un chocolat, elles repartent chacune avec leur sac - alors pourquoi charger 1 $ par sac quand une seule personne en achète plusieurs pour les offrir aux autres comme cadeau? De 1, c'est de la bonne publicité pour vous. & de 2, ça ne fait aucun sens financièrement de facturer $1 pour un petit sac en papier & ça enlève au côté « haut de gamme ». Do better.

The premium chocolates here are so good! This was our last stop when we did a food tour in Montreal. We had some chocolate sampling with the owner, Maud. She was very knowledgeable & explained the bean-to-bar process. The variety of chocolates were so delicious & I like that they have sugar-free milk chocolates, perfect for diabetics. Thank you, Maud, for taking the time to go over the different flavours with us.
Ok. Mark my words. This is heaven on earth. Amazing amazing selection of chocolate, their house branding is incredibly beautiful, all the staff is ALWAYS helpful. If you want to step up your chocolate game, it IS the place to go. Plus, they are in a very cool neighborhood of restaurants, bars & little shops. Make it a destination! You won't regret.
Le chocolat est absolument excellent, en particulier aux pistaches. Le service est impeccable, les deux employées qui étaient là aujourdhui étaient très gentilles & je suis heureuse de mon achat, un coffret bon anniversaire pour les 35 ans de mon amie & une barre pour moi. Un grand merci pour le service!
Wow. Traveled from far away to experience this place. It did not disappoint. Best shop for bars I have ever been to. So many great chocolates to choose from all around the world. Favorites were the house made bars. Great artwork & packaging. Delicious & unique. Don't pass this up if you like fine chocolates!

Une belle chocolaterie sur le boulevard de Saint Laurent ! Les bars du chocolat sont faits soigneusement, beaucoup de variétés & de couleurs. Ils ont également du cacao, du chocolat pour la cuisine ou pour faire les pâtisseries ! Les prix sont très élevés, même pour goûter une toute petite pièce!!! Alors comme une cliente qui découvre cette place je n'ai pas trouvé une proposition de dégustation pour clients comme ailleurs !! L'amour entre les clients & leur passion pour le chocolat, depuis toujours vaut la peine d'une dégustation sur place !!
