Good friend brought us out of towners to Escondite for dinner on Friday night. Busy restaurant, so I'd make a reservation. Nice place with great food & they definitely don't skimp out on portions! We did 3 apps & 9 tacos (Baja, Camarones Shrimp & E'Steak Koreano). Absolutely stuffed! Great cocktails as well. Cool vibe with the art wall & decorations throughout!

Super expérience. À la suggestion de notre serveur (très sympathique d'ailleurs), on a pris le menu dégustation, à quatre, & on a vraiment été satisfaits! C'était délicieux, très copieux, & ça nous a fait découvrir des plats qu'on aurait peut-être pas commandé autrement. Les plats, au choix du chef (qui était décidément bien inspiré) se suivaient les uns après les autres, variés & savoureux.
On a aussi beaucoup aimé le décor, l'ambiance & la musique juste assez forte mais pas trop!

Dinner for 2, the experience x2, with 2 cocktails & 1 jarritos soda. With taxes & tip $175... looking back & doing the calculation we were charged for the churros when we were told it was included in the experience.
5 of 6 tapas were great... the porc tacos the porc seemed mushy & not a desired texture, similar to the cod tacos the final course before dessert.
Churros were thick & short therefore creating undercooked batter in the middle. Dipping sauce was thick Nutella consistency so almost undippable. Thinner & longer churros would guarantee the inside is cooked properly. A more liquidity dippable sauce would be desirable.
Friendly service & nice atmosphere but at these prices it will be difficult to want to return regardless how tasty & nice the experience is.

Honestly, I was a bit skeptical before visiting as you are often disappointed when it comes to eating Mexican with restaurant chains .
Well, I was completely wrong.
The food was stunning , fresh , tasty.
It's a mix of original & fusion food very well adapted.
Hats off .
Will definitely come back.

It's a very well decorated Mexican restaurant. There are some good dishes , some others , not. It's expensive for the quantity of food served. As a Mexican I expect some good tacos no matter the size , but, it's not the experience for this place. Of I had to go again for some reunion, the best tacos are the shrimp ones & the birria ones.

A beautiful located restaurant with wonderful food & service. Big shout-out to Cynthia who made some fantastic recommendations & was a pleasure to deal with on our first visit. Enjoy the place when you go!

Très déçue;-( je n'ai pas du tout retrouvé la qualité & les saveurs des autres Escondite que j'adore. L'ambiance est également décevante. Bonne note pour le service par contre. Malheureusement ce n'est pas suffisant pour me donner envie de revenir;-(

Très déçue;-( j'adore Escondite au centre ville mais malheureusement je n'ai pas du tout retrouvé la qualité & la saveur des tacos & autres petits plats signés Escondite.

12$ for 2 mini tacos is INSANITY! I was extremely disappointed. We tried 5 different tacos & only 1 was good. The Baja was very yummy just on the spicy side. The Pollos Hermanos (fried chicken) was extremely dry. The Al Pastor had no sauce & so bland. The Camarones Y Queso (shrimp & cheese) made me extremely sick. Was not fresh, it tasted so bad. One bite & I was sick to my stomach. The Birria was meh. Not authentic whatsoever. Again very dry. Overall the food was bland & the portions were ridiculously small. I was with a big group, so we got to sit upstairs which was fun & private. The service was extremely slow. No one was cleaning up the tables. There were dirty plates everywhere & it was overwhelming. I get that we were a big group but the resto was dead so I don't get why the service was slow. Some people took the 45$ Escondite Experience (plates to share). They didn't even want to tell you what was included. They said "Trust us". Glad I didn't because it was not worth it & many were not impressed. EDIT: Their reply is completely false & it's a standard copy & paste.
