Aside from the food-which was just okay-the experience was very disappointing. We ordered the three-course menu, but somehow got forgotten twice during the evening. We ended up spending nearly three hours stuck in a corner of the bar.
The service felt completely disorganized. The first waiter brought us the wrong order, & the second assumed we had finished our meal when we were still waiting for our main course. To make matters worse, we waited a full hour just to receive two cold churros for dessert.
Overall, a frustrating & poorly managed experience.
Bon service.
Great food, great service. The bartender Jeffrey was super chill & accomodating, we had custom made drinks. We will definitely come back
The reviews were so positive, especially about the service, I thought they were by paid actors. Im happy to confirm that they are all true. Service was excellent. We realised that Pedro is an OG from the Union location. He really took care of us. I highly recommend the'experience' option. At 40$pp it's one of the best values right now. It lets you try a bit of everything & we loved each dish. For me some of the fusion options were real surprises (gyoza, general Chapo wingd, korean tacos). Drinks were a bit on the light side but were tasty. Pedro also explained that they will be opening a terrace in the summer so we're looking forward to that. We are lucky to have a bunch of great Mexican options in Brossard but you need to try this place out, especially if you are a fan of the downtown locations.
We recently went to Escondite Brossard & unfortunately our experience was disappointing.
Our friends (a group of 7) had a reservation, & we wanted to join them with our family of four. When I checked online, there was still availability, so I called the restaurant to ask if we could simply be added. I was told that any group larger than 7 people must take the $45 tasting menu. We've already tried the tasting menu before & were hoping to just order what we wanted this time, especially since we were coming with kids. Paying $45 each for tacos for children felt a bit excessive.
I asked if we could instead have our own table nearby so we wouldn't interfere with our friends' reservation, but the manager said that even if we booked separately we would still be required to take the group menu.
So I made a separate reservation online for our family, assuming we would naturally end up sitting close to our friends since the restaurant isn't very big. However, when we arrived there were multiple empty tables available & the staff still refused to seat us anywhere near them. It honestly felt like we were intentionally kept as far apart as possible to prove a point.
The manager came across as quite arrogant & not very client-oriented, which made the whole situation frustrating. On the positive side, our waiter provided great service.
As for the food, the prices initially seem reasonable, but the portions are quite small. In reality, you end up spending around $45 per person in tacos just to feel full anyway.
Overall, because of the rigid policy & the way the situation was handled, we won't be returning.
Great atmosphere but the rest wasn't worth it.
Honestly, it's not that hard to make good quality Mexican food. Here, the portions are soooooo small.. almost tapas size. The tacos were dry & not savoury. The Acapulco ceviche.. 2 shrimps in ketchup? ….disappointed. Will not return.
Be warned, it only tapas. Very small portions. You have to order a lot to be filled. Very expensive. Good waiter & atmosphere.
