We celebrated a birthday here, & it turned out to be the owner's birthday too - what a fun coincidence! The whole experience felt so personal & lively. Birthday cake & songs made everything feel extra festive. The decor is super interesting & gives the place a lot of character, & the food was genuinely delicious. It was a very pleasant surprise discovering this gem in Montreal. The menu was written in three languages; French, English, & Russian. It brought back tastes of childhood growing up in the country. The decor was beautiful to admire during our visit. The bread served prior to the meal was deliciously hand made. The menu at Ermitage is a true celebration of authenticity & flavor, highlighting the diverse tapestry of Russian culinary traditions. Our choices for the main course, the beef stroganoff, & lamb chops were absolutely delicious - highly recommended! The flavors brought back nostalgic memories of my childhood. Great atmosphere & service, the restaurant almost feels like a museum thanks to the antique russian decor. The staff is very friendly & know multiple different languages. The food is amazing & everything tastes home made & authentic. Would highly reccomend the cottage cheese blini especially. The pricing is also very good. I wish i could eat here every day :)View more

The service was great, the décor & ambience was perfect, & the food - the food!! The vodka was served in a lovely chilled decanter, the duck was cooked perfectly, but perhaps my favourite part was the appetizer platter with cured fish & a brilliant spread of classic Russian snacks. I can't say enough good about this wonderful place. It is a given that next time in Montreal, I won't be going just once, but as many times as I can!

C'est en vain que je chercherais quelque chose qui a cloché lors de notre dîner d'hier. Tout était impeccable.
Mon compagnon & moi avons choisi le menu dégustation. Dès l'assiette de poissons, nous étions ravis. L'anguille fumée ajoute une touche inusitée à cette belle assiette. Deuxième plat: caviar de saumon & blinis, où les saveurs salées du caviar & le goût sucré & délicat des blinis s'agencent à merveille. Troisième plat: ceux qui ont voyagé en Europe de l'est reconnaîtront les pelmeni, vareniki & pirozhok, tous apprêtés à merveille. Suit le sorbet au citron arrosé de vodka: mais où donc le chef a-t-il trouvé la façon de faire un sorbet aussi onctueux & savoureux?
En cinquième plat, mon compagnon a été enchanté de ses côtelettes d'agneau, cuites à la perfection, alors que je me régalais du Stroganoff, servi avec des légumes grillés à la perfection. Pour dessert, les blintchiki au fromage étaient légers & parfumés à souhait. La vodka, servie glacée tout au long du repas, arrosait comme il se doit ce merveilleux dîner.
Quoi d'autre?... Ah oui! Service d'une cordialité & d'une efficacité remarquables. Le tout dans un décor idéal pour dépayser tout en rappelant les restos les plus agréables de la Russie traditionnelle.
Soirée à revivre? Assurément.

Les trois entrées étaient délicieuses dont bien attendu le caviar d'esturgeon accompagné de savoureux blinis. En plat principal le boeuf stroganoff & les côtelettes d'agneau, dans leurs sauces onctueuses étaient tendres & délicieux. L'ambiance est chaleureuse & le décor sublime. Nous y retournerons sans hésitation.
