In my opinion, El Meson is the best Mexican restaurant in Canada,full stop. It's the kind of place that deserves recognition in the Michelin Guide. Despite being a small, family-run restaurant, the level of quality, care, & authenticity in the food is exceptional.
I regularly travel from Toronto & make it a point to stop here every single time, whether for lunch or dinner. I was first introduced to El Meson by a friend whose mother lives nearby, & since then, it has become a must-visit.
What truly sets this place apart are the sauces they are absolutely outstanding. Each one is layered, rich, & clearly made with deep knowledge of traditional Mexican flavors. You can taste the craftsmanship in every bite.
I would 100% recommend everything on the menu, but my personal favourite has to be the enchiladas with the house mole sauce absolutely incredible.
The service is equally memorable. There is a lady server who is always there unfortunately, I never caught her name but she consistently elevates the entire experience. She is warm, attentive, & genuinely kind, & she has a way of making everyone feel welcome & taken care of.
El Meson is more than just a restaurant it's an experience. If you're serious about authentic Mexican cuisine, this place is not optional.

Amazing food, great portion size. We tried Enchiladas, chiles Rellenos both veg & Chicken Tacos. All of them were amazing. We tried the Harchhata & Jamaica drink. It was nice as well. Great ambience & the server was very nice too. A different vibe whole together. Would definitely recommend.

2017 - Fantastic little find! Attentive, friendly, tri-lingual staff. Great views of the river & park if you can sit on the terrace. Great portion sizes, priced well. Don't forget the Sangria!
2025 - Sangria is still excellent. The cactus & sausage in the queso was very good, providing a different, lighter taste.
She had the tacos & I had the carne asada. We recommend anything on the menu.

Un très bon choix pour une expérience culinaire mexicaine authentique. J'ai pris les fajitas aux légumes & je n'ai pas été déçu. Le service était non seulement courtois, mais aussi rapide, ce qui a rendu notre repas encore plus agréable. Notre serveur Oz a répondu à nos questions avec un grand plaisir. Les portions étaient généreuses, parfaites pour combler notre appétit. Je recommande vivement ce restaurant pour tous ceux qui recherchent un repas savoureux dans une ambiance accueillante.
