Mr. Victor Lopez and his wife Elena Garcia welcomes you at El Meson! This authentic Mexican restaurant located just across the Lachine Canal, in an old brick house in Old Lachine welcomes you in a warm and friendly atmosphere. It is already several years that this Mexican gem serves its secret family recipes. They started timidly years ago in Dorval for those who remember, and it is through satisfied customers that this Mexican restaurant has made a name for itself and today El Meson ranks among the best Latin restaurants in Montreal.

What a surprise! Looking for a patio for a drink & ended up with an excellent pitcher of margarita & a variety of food, all of which were excellent. The plate of nachos was smallish but smoothered in cheese & home nade tomato salsa. Cheap drinks!,

It is a hot day. We came in for drink & food. Ordered taco roll & fajitas. The avocado sauce is wonderful! Lemonades are cold! The extra bread/pita is hot & tasty. Surprise!

Food was very good & that about it !
Waiters & waitresses seemed bothered if we asked a question . We asked for the drink menu & the waiter told us he was too busy at the moment!
Finally when we ordered the drinks one came back wrong & mine was supposed to be slushy & it wasn't.
Food was actually tasty & perfect temperature.
When I paid I wanted the receipt from the machine & he said sorry too late . I was like you never asked if I wanted a copy & his response was too late now !
Food was very services was not! Will not be returning!

Sympa petit bistro Mexicain sur le bord de l'eau. Belle petite terrasse & un ajout de tables sur le côté du resto permet plus de tables à l'extérieur.
Service sympa, familial, rapide & courtois.
Nourriture mexicaine hors des classiques, avec une touche de créativité. Sélection de drinks vaste, des classiques aux exotiques.
Prix raisonnables.

Amazing food, great portion size. We tried Enchiladas, chiles Rellenos both veg & Chicken Tacos. All of them were amazing. We tried the Harchhata & Jamaica drink. It was nice as well. Great ambience & the server was very nice too. A different vibe whole together. Would definitely recommend.

Nous avons adoré venir ma blonde & moi. Nous avons été servi par un jeune homme si je ne me trompe il s'appelait Arthuro. Le service était plus que parfait & le temps d'attente pour la nourriture juste parfait. Les drinks autant de type mocktails que cocktails était très bon. C'est un plaisir pour l'estomac & les yeux de venir à chaque fois au El meson 👌

El Meson is a nice restaurant close to the water shore in Lachine. They have delicious food, great drinks & good service! With latin atmosphere, it is the perfect place to have a good dinner!

We were looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant while a quaint atmosphere. We got exactly that!! So good!! We were 2 couples & ironically we each ordered the same two dishes., Chicken Tacos & the Carne Asada (?)- Steak & Cactis! The Steak & Catcus I had no choice as a friend had said" You have To Try It!" & no regrets, the Steak was cooked perfectly, medium rare & the cactus & sauce was delicious. The meal was deceiving large, I managed to eat it all! The tacos were not severed how you know the/open face if you will but rather came closed on top, the ladies loved them! We had several drinks with the meal, Margaritas & a tequila Sunrise, these too were excellent! We even managed to share some dessert, a three milk cake & a flan & once again, no regrets! The staff were super attentive & per couple were in for under $100 before tip! The restaurant is a converted house, which adds to the charm, it is cozy but not intimate. If you decide to go, make a reservation to avoid disappointment as there are not that many gables available. Cheers

Loved loved loved our dine-in experience at El Meson. It was recommended by my brother & he did not disappoint. The food was delicious & authentic. The drinks were refreshing. Everything tasted amazing from soup to main meals to drinks. Oh, & the servings were generous! I also appreciated that they weren't big on the rice, but more on the proteins & veggies. Would go back!

El Meson is an amazing Mexican cuisine restaurant. We simply LOVE the homey feel of the place, the great terrace view during the summer season &, most importantly, the food. What can we say but, DELICIOUS!! Having lived in Mexico for 7 years, the food was a great reminder of how much we miss living there, & how much we enjoy the wonderful authentic cuisine of Mexico. El Meson should definitely be on your list of great authentic Mexican dining. & the drinks are super as well. Great food, amazing service by friendly staff & a comfy-cozy place to relax & enjoy yourself. Muchas Graicias! Petersito

Food was okay. I have had much tastier Mexican food. We were pretty much ignored after we were served our main dishes. No one came to offer us coffee or dessert (which is not offered anyway - pity).
The good: Lovely ambience, cosy, not too loud, wait staff very pleasant.
The bad: Pitcher of Margarita was small & way too sweet. Plating & presentation need a little more attention. For Mexican food, I was expecting a lot more flavour, & heat. Portions are not generous.
Suggestions: Put something on the table to munch on over drink appetizers, e.g salsa with tortillas, olives, pickled veggies....be a lot more generous on the portions of rice & veggies with the mains; it's like they are an after-thought. I had a nice pechuga with a teeny, tiny serving of rice buried under some slivers of over-cooked bell peppers. & ONE tortilla chip with a thin line of refried beans piped onto it.
