It's open at 2am, the service is reliable, the smoked meat sandwiches are *chef's kiss* & its not pizza or poutine (although they'll serve you the latter if you want). It's a bit pricey for a sandwich & fries, but then what isn't these days?View more

Schwartz probably is the most famous in Montreal for smoked meat, this place is also recommended & because of all the constructions around it now on a late afternoon there's no wait. So having a petit combo per waitress recommendation 33+CAD hit 2 Montreal's specialty at once--smoked meat & poutine. They were delicious enough for me, not sure if I go to Schwartz (smoked meat) & La Banquise (Poutine) I can really tell that much difference as I'm no food connoisseur.View more

Good dive bar styled chain poutine spot. My first stop in Montreal downtown the last few trips to get my smoked meat poutine bearings straight to begin trying other local spots. There are many better places out there, but this is always right near where I stay & part of my "get supplies for the weekend" run after I get off the plane. This was me & my friends' first stop for our Montreal trip. Our hotel wasn't ready so we left the bags & explored for a bit. We tried Dunn's for the first time & the service was impeccably fast. The host was patient with us as well. Although we ordered take-out, the place had a nice ambiance with lots of seating. We got poutine as well as the smoked meat sandwich. We also ordered the Dunn's famous smoked meat poutine & the smoked meat burger. The smoked meat poutine was covered in smoked meat & packed with flavour. There was a perfect ratio of cheese curds to gravy to fries as well. The smoked meat burger did not quite live up to our expectations. The burger patty itself was dry & there was only a few slices of smoked meat. On the other hand, the smoked meat sandwich was great!
