Opinions of Duc de Lorraine describe a refined Parisian vibe with an impressive array of pastries and desserts that many reviewers call among the best in Montreal, from oversized croissants to intricate trompe l'oeil creations and a tarte au citron that draws rave comments. The bakery and cafe blend an elegant, cozy atmosphere near Oratoire Saint Joseph with consistently attentive, friendly service that makes guests feel welcome whether celebrating a birthday, enjoying a luxurious brunch, or stopping in for pastry and coffee. The food and desserts are praised for quality and presentation, and the overall experience is often described as charming, polished, and memorable, with a sense that the place truly delivers on its reputation. While prices are frequently noted as high and some guests mention long waits or moments of uneven service, many reviewers feel the combination of flavor, artistry, and service justifies the cost and invites return visits for special occasions or a refined treat.

Duc de Lorraine has once again delighted us with wonderful service, great food & a lively atmosphere. No matter how sated you are, there is always room for dessert & perhaps to take one for breakfast the next day! Thank you for a lovely evening.
Incredible food, welcoming to a family with children. Wine tasting before selecting what to pair with your meal. Authentic French Canadian cuisine, worth the price!! Steak, Salmon, Burgers, Excellent!
Very disappointing. Price gauging since last year when we came. Not enough menu choices. We always thought Duc de Lorraine was a fine dining place but it's not the Ritz so why do you think we would come back again?

Extremely overpriced… we are all about good food for a good price, but over $50 for a breakfast is ridiculous. Use to go here every-time we went to Montreal, but this was a little crazy. Server was almost rude & rushing us to order, rushing us to eat. Will not be going back.
Maybe we went on an off day but I took my friend out to celebrate & we were both disappointed. Lukewarm, mediocre food & the desserts were ok. The drinks were good & the place is absolutely beautiful! The service was slow even though it wasn't busy & the staff seemed kind. We sat indoors to avoid the bugs but unfortunately the flies took over. Im glad I tried it but I would not go back since the price doesn't make sense for what we got.
I absolutely loved this place! I had the Roche mousse, beautifully presented & tasted amazing. We sat at the patio & the vibes were just right. Will definitely be going again, highly recommend :)
