Review Summary

Duc de Lorraine is widely recognized for its elegant Parisian atmosphere, stunning pastry displays, and prime location near the Oratoire Saint Joseph. Many patrons enjoy the high-quality desserts, particularly the trompe l'oeil pastries, croissants, and unique cakes, often describing them as visually impressive and delicious. The service frequently stands out, with numerous guests commending the attentive, professional, and welcoming nature of the staff. While the experience is often highlighted as a highlight of visiting Montreal, some feedback notes that the pricing is quite high for the portions provided. While the majority of guests have a wonderful experience, inconsistent service and occasional issues with food temperature or preparation have been mentioned by some. Overall, it remains a popular choice for celebrations and special occasions where guests are looking for a refined, authentic atmosphere.

Update April 3, 2025. Duc de Lorraine is totally different. It's no longer the restaurant we want to recommend if you are out of town or something you need to experience in Montreal. Dinner Menu has very little options now, quite frustrating actually as we always come to this place & have a good time. Unless they change their Dinner menu I am not coming back to dine in.

J'ai pris un croissant framboise pistache à presque 10$ a emporter omg pas de goût trop gras trop sucré, mouillé au final je n'ai pas pu le finir je ne le recommande pas, je n'ai pas goûté autre chose

I have come here several times & I'm extremely disappointed with the service. The staff at the cash usually acts like they have something better to do, & look irritated.

The pastries are extremely overrated, & extremely overpriced for what it is. There are other bakeries, just a few steps away that have much better service, & much better food, for a better price point.

High-end good. Loved all kids of bread that i got, especially baklava croissant & chocolate éclair. But it's a little bit pricy.

This place was amazing. It was one of our favourite moments in Montreal. We came in to celebrate a birthday & from the moment we walked in the place is beautiful. The staff are so welcoming & nice they really looked after us.
We had an amazing breakfast with mimosas, fresh beautiful fruit, crêpes, etc.
The best part for us was our server Rafa he went above & beyond to look after us & was incredibly kind to our toddler. Even bringing her a small macaroon dessert.
Thank you everyone at this wonderful restaurant for such an amazing time.
