Très belle expérience dans ce café. Tout était excellent, aussi bien en goût qu'en présentation. Mention spéciale pour la serveuse Oksana : accueillante, professionnelle & très attentionnée. Un service au top qui donne envie de revenir.
We came here after seeing the sunset from the St Joseph's oratory on Labour Day. It was slightly busy. The sweets look mouthwatering & beautifully presented. The food is just as delicious. Price is on a higher side for a cafe but the ambiance is rather worth it.
Ce n'est pas ma première fois chez DucLorraine, & honnêtement, ce ne sera jamais la dernière. C'est toujours mon premier choix quand il fait beau! Leur terrasse est parfaite pour se détendre, que ce soit pour un café, un brunch ou un lunch entre amis.
Le service est impeccable - l'équipe est accueillante, professionnelle & sait exactement ce qu'elle fait. On sent qu'ils veulent offrir une belle expérience à chaque visite. L'ambiance est chaleureuse, & tout ce qu'on pourrait espérer pour passer un bon moment y est.
Bref, si tu cherches un endroit fiable, agréable, avec une super ambiance & un service au top c'est ici .
J'ai passé un agréable moment à l'occasion de mon anniversaire j'y retournerai probablement pour un café & un dessert mais je n'ai pas aimé le matcha qui avait un goût & odeur de poisson. La serveuse l'a gentiment échanger sans hésitation. Je ne peux malheureusement pas mettre plus que 3 étoiles parce qu'il y avait beaucoup de choses qui était à améliorer, selon moi. Le verre d'eau sentais dur, mes raisins manquait de fraîcheur, mon Baba au rhum goûtais seulement l'eau & le sucre, le blanc d'oeuf était coulant dans mon oeuf poché. Bref, ce n'étais pas là perfection mais j'ai bien apprécié que toute l'équipe équipe viens chanter pour ma fête 🥳 merci encore
Les prix sont complètements absurdes. 9$ un café, 40$ des pancakes, 40$ une omelette, croque monsieur à 40$, 30$ une soupe à l'oignon. On est pas à un restaurant michelin. Faut arrêter de prendre les clients pour des cons. Je suis sorti d'un déjeuner à 2 avec une addition de 220$. Bon, mais rien de spécial.
Service n'est pas à la hauteur de l'établissement. Manque d'hygiène: cheveux retrouvés dans la sauce mayonnaise & dans la mousse du café Ceci n'est pas une mauvaise publicité mais pour sensibiliser les gérants de l'établissement. Au prix qu'on a payé, on n'est pas satisfait
Café dessert pour deux à 30$ sans réchauffer le café cela est décevant ! Le service, impeccable, l'ambiance très bien mais les rideaux cachent le clocher de l'oratoire & c'est malheureux.
5 stars! My go-to breakfast spot! This beloved Montreal pastry shop & café (since 1952!) never disappoints. Their bakery & pastries are divine, but the real showstopper is their custom birthday cakes , truly exceptional! The combination of traditional charm & mouthwatering treats makes this place truly special. Étant allé déjeuner au Duc la semaine passée, j'ai été effaré par le niveau des prix qui y sont atteints . Un déjeuner pour 2 personnes ( entrées & plat principal , sans dessert, ni café, ni vin ) dépassant 210 $ ...pour un menu' café parisien/ brasserie' ! Les pâtisseries sont déjà à un prix multiple des mêmes en Europe.

I was really excited to try the place but I was a bit disappointed. The staff is friendly & the pastries are tempting & presentable. They do have the viral pastries like the cookie croissant. It is also kids friendly, they provide crayons for them to draw on the table paper. We ordered a butter croissant ($5.25) & pistachio New York roll ($11.25). However, the taste was below average & it was overpriced almost double the other cafes & bakeries. Also, the dine-in prices are higher than the take out prices. The pistachio decoration & filling were disappointing & tasted artificial. It seems they use artificial flavoring & coloring for them.
I just returned from my long weekend trip to Montreal & am back home in Niagara on the Lake, Ontario & I am compelled to write this review & send a Special Thank you to "Mo" (Mahomet), my wonderful server at the Fabulous Duc De Lorraine!!!! I spent my mornings being pampered at this delightful Bistro with an amazing array of scrumptious pastries, sandwiches & beverages. As a Guest, you can choose to dine inside the Bistro or outside on the patio which offered scenic views of the Observatoire & a small park lined with tables & chairs along side the Parkway under the shade of the trees. I choose the patio & indulged in a Flat Croissant & on another occassion, the Mille-Feuille creme patissiere & also treated myself to the Croque-Monsieur sandwich complimented with a side salad which was a match made in heaven! All while I enjoyed sipping on a Cappuccino & also sampled the Cafe Latte. Unfortunately, my spoken French is not at the level I would like it to be, but the staff were accomodating & "Mo", heightened my overall experience with his genuine kindness, care, thoughtful suggestions & welcoming sense of humor! I have already made plans to return to Montreal in the next month just so I can revisit the menu at Duc De Lorraine, which I am confident will not disappoint!!!!! Merci Beaucoup mes Amies! Vraiment un super bel établissement où s'arrêter prendre un café & déguster une délicieuse viennoiserie. Nous avons eu le privilège d'être servies par Jonathan, impeccable 😉
Point positif: J'ai choisi Duc de Lorraine pour déjeuner le premier jour de Iftar( 3id) après Le mois de Ramadan, pour avoir un Bon café de bon matin avec le famous New York roll. _Le service était à la hauteur (rapidité, propreté) _Le staff souriant & gentils. _Sanitaires très propre. _Une belle embiance a la française. _endroit très calme pour profiter du moment de fu solie à côté de la fenêtre ou bien à la terrasse. _ Café bien chaud, New York roll était trop trop trop trop fourré au chocolat au point tu peux pas le finir ni même manger la moitié. Point négatif: _New York roll était trop fourré. (Chaqu'un est son goût). _y'avait malheureusement quelques 🐜 qui monte sur ta table, sur ton sac , sur tes vêtements qui te met mal alaise. (J'ai signalé ça au service "BONSOIR" , j'espère il a transmis le message. A revenir ! Oui c'est sur pour essayer cette fois ci leur menu Salés. Merci. Bonne courage.
The best French Cafe/Restaurant I've been to in my 10 years living in Montreal. We had the Onion soup, St-Paul Benedictine & Crepes & it was fantastic. The atmosphere of traditional French music & great service brought me back to times of sitting in Paris, with a quality of food that is normally lacking in Canada.
