Today we visited Duc de Lorraine & we absolutely did not like it. We tried two desserts - pear & raspberry. The pear lacked flavor & was completely unremarkable, while the raspberry had some tartness but overall was just okay, nothing impressive. Honestly, everything looks much better than it tastes.
& the CUTLERY - just awful. I've never seen tableware so scratched anywhere before. It was covered in deep scratches & unpleasant even to touch. It's honestly embarrassing. Overall, our expectations were much higher than what we actually received.
J'y vais ponctuellement depuis 2001, beaucoup moins depuis que j'ai quitté le quartier. J'y vais pour dépanner car mieux que les autres commerces du coin. Très grand choix, on y trouve les produits de boulangerie & pâtisserie tendances sur les réseaux, mais vraiment pas les meilleurs de la ville. D'ailleurs ce commerce reçoit régulièrement les louanges des « influenceurs » locaux. Les prix par contre sont plutôt élevés. Au regard du prix c'est très moyen.
J'ai réservé pour 2 personnes pour la Saint Valentin 3 semaines avant la date. Nous sommes arrivés à l'heure il y avait de l'attente. Cela arrive, pas de problème donc nous avons été installés au bar en attendant. Après 50 minutes d'attente, & 2 couples arrivés 30 & 40 minutes après nous, qui connaissait la patronne pour l'un des couples, & qui n'a pas attendu 10 minutes avant d'être installé, j'avoue que je me suis levée pour demander des comptes, & on nous a enfin installés à table. Je précise tout de même que la serveuse qui s'est occupée de nous placer était gênée mais ce n'était pas sa faute & elle était aimable. La patronne est très souriante, mais faire passer ses amis avant des clients qui ont réservés & qui attendent depuis 50 minutes ce n'est pas très commerçant. J'avais tellement hâte d'y d'aller car nous habitons à Montréal depuis peu mais ce problème a gâché mon début de soirée. Heureusement, le serveur qui s'est occupé de nous ensuite a été parfait, souriant & professionnel. De plus le repas était délicieux comme nous l'espérions. Je sais bien que cet établissement n'est pas à 2 clients près & que cela ne changera pas leur vie, mais je ne sais pas si nous y retournerons. La nourriture me fera peut être changer d'avis, en espérant que cela ne se produise pas.
Actually really disappointed. First got our reservation wrong, then wanted to place our party of 5 at the bar. Then it took hours before we even got our drinks let alone our food, no exaggeration. The restaurant menu was a good size, quality & tasted very nice but the desserts were small especially for their cost & not as special as I expected. I have had a lot of similar desserts of a better size, price & taste in the city & outskirts. The restaurant space was also very very hot. Extremely uncomfortable especially considering I am 8 months pregnant.
Oh m'y God. Tout était tellement bon le steak & en dessert la patate. Vraiment exceptionnel.

A beautiful & cozy place, the food quality is excellent & delicious. The service is verygood, & their birthday celebrations are truly heartwarming. As for the desserts, they're beyond amazing.
