Over the generations, the Desgroseilliers family diversified its agricultural activities to share the fruits of their labour with the general public. In the 1920s, in every spring, Victor tapped maple trees located on his land to produce maple syrup for his family and some grocery stores in Montreal. The maple business became so big that Victor built a small shack in the middle of the sugar bush, a friendly gathering place in which to receive family and friends. This is the spirit that still persists today, at the Labranche sugar shack.
From the spirit of the most recent generation born in 2009, the Domaine Labranche now includes the maple sugar business, a cider mill and winery, where liquor is now produced from the fertile lands of St. Isidore, where you’ll find unique products that highlight the uniqueness of Quebec lands.True to their origins, the Desgroseilliers family deepen their skills, working in harmony with nature, and continue on their quest to introduce and offer high-quality innovative products.
Reviews of Domaine Labranche describe a varied, family friendly sugar shack experience set on a historic site with farm animals, a cozy fire pit, and options to explore an orchard, a maple grove and a vineyard, plus on site dining. The place is praised for a wide range of dietary options, including gluten free, lactose free, vegetarian and vegan meals, and generous portions that satisfy groups; the vegan dishes are highlighted as particularly good. The atmosphere is described as charming with old French Canadian flair, and the grounds offer activities such as carriage rides and farm visits alongside apple picking and wine tasting. Service is noted as friendly by many, though some reviews report slow service or small, pricey portions and occasional lapses. Overall, Domaine Labranche is seen as one of the better sugar shack choices in the region and a reliable option for families and diverse dietary needs.

Awesome place for a family trip to the sugar shack! Highly recommended for a traditional quebecois breakfast. This is a very old site with history dating back to first contact with the Mohawk in this area. This is located in the heart of old ktown ...
This place has everything you can ask for to eat & the maple syrup is sooooooo good. Check it out & let them know jackbrown9120 sent you & win a prize 🏆 ... #spicyadventuresKTOWN. Please like this post if you enjoyed my photo post ... thanks 😊
Domaine Labranche is one of the few Cabane à Sucres that have meals that cover most dietary restrictions. They have omni, vegetarian, vegan, Gluten-free, & lactose free. We had the vegan meal & it was delicious! The staff were friendly & welcoming. Great atmosphere, with a beautiful fire pit to lounge around. The one thing that would make it better for families is if there was slightly more for kids to do. Maybe an obstacle course or something. Overall loved it, & would return!
Incroyable 10/10 , seulement des produits fait maison. On recommande fortement.

We were six people, didn't feel like the portions they brought out to our table was enough. But when we asked for more, the staff was kind & brought more.
I recently organized an event for our retired school administrators at Domaine Labranche. From the very beginning things went very well. My dealings with Catherine Landry were always pleasant & efficient. Everything was well organized. We were very warmly welcomed when we arrived. The food was very good & there was a lot of variety. I chose this particular sugar shack because of the extensive menu & vegetarian options for our members who are vegetarian, as well as distance from Montreal. It was about a 20-30 min drive for most of our members, which is very reasonable. The service was great; if we ran out of anything, it was quickly replaced. The cabin itself is lovely, with old French Canadian charm, & was bright & clean. We left very happy & well fed! We were even given a 10% discount at the boutique. We are hoping to organize another event in the fall for apple picking/wine tasting. I would highly recommend Catherine Landry & her team at Domaine Labranche for your next Cabane a Sucre event.

As this location has a large gluten free menu, it was super interesting to go & try! Although the options are amazing, there is of course no guarantee of zero cross contamination, keep in mind if you are celiac. This is a great place to go with friends & family & the staff is very very friendly & helpful! Cozy & cute atmosphere too!
