Dinette Bardez is refined comfort food personified! It's rare to find food this good in such a casual eatery. But I have a feeling there's nothing casual about the love & effort that the ownership & staff puts into this establishment.
Everything we ate was absolutely delectable. My faves were: The potatoes (batata harra), which seemed to defy physics in that they were perfectly crispy on the outside yet consistently soft throughout the inside (tremendous mouth feel). The kafta burger & akawie sandwich did everything a handheld should do; tremendous flavour, varied but complementary textures, & sauces that pop. I nearly died eating the baklava cheesecake (complimentary), which is, frankly, unfair to all other desserts.
The staff was excellent! Interested to hear our feedback & provide great service, but not intrusive like some places can be. If you aren't sure what you'd like, definitely ask, as they'll have useful suggestions.
We'll definitely be visiting again on our next trip to Montreal!
Nothing to add: feels like visiting friends. Great value. Don't skip a side of savoury potatoes with garlic sauce or the homemade pink lemonade. Portions are reasonable to allow for a shared side & dessert. & baklava cheesecake is a genius merger!
Such a nice discovery! Was walking on Bernard to find something quick & delicious & they definitely delivered.
Everything I had so far from them was 100!
From the main dishes to the sides to the desserts all so yumm.
Would highly recommend & I will for sure be going back!
