Dinette Bardez is refined comfort food personified! It's rare to find food this good in such a casual eatery. But I have a feeling there's nothing casual about the love & effort that the ownership & staff puts into this establishment.
Everything we ate was absolutely delectable. My faves were: The potatoes (batata harra), which seemed to defy physics in that they were perfectly crispy on the outside yet consistently soft throughout the inside (tremendous mouth feel). The kafta burger & akawie sandwich did everything a handheld should do; tremendous flavour, varied but complementary textures, & sauces that pop. I nearly died eating the baklava cheesecake (complimentary), which is, frankly, unfair to all other desserts.
The staff was excellent! Interested to hear our feedback & provide great service, but not intrusive like some places can be. If you aren't sure what you'd like, definitely ask, as they'll have useful suggestions.
We'll definitely be visiting again on our next trip to Montreal!
We had a wonderful experience at this local eatery. The staff were super friendly & helpful, we had the Kafta burger & a vegetarian sandwich plus homemade lemonade. It was all delicious & well worth the visit!
Maybe the best potatoes I've ever had in my life?? The akawi in the cheese sandwich tasted like grilled halloumi but better & the tart toppings were a great complement to the overall profile. The baclava cheesecake was also phenomenal, both in texture & taste. Truly ridiculous how good the food is for how reasonable the prices are.
Nothing to add: feels like visiting friends. Great value. Don't skip a side of savoury potatoes with garlic sauce or the homemade pink lemonade. Portions are reasonable to allow for a shared side & dessert. & baklava cheesecake is a genius merger!
I walked into this hidden Mile End gem on a rainy afternoon to discover the warmth of the Levant. This cozy place specializes in Armenian & Estern Mediterranean staples. I had the kafta burger & spinach pie , both of which were excellent. The service was prompt & friendly, & the price was incredIbly reasonable , especially considering the quality.
Bonne expérience dans cette dinette. On sent que les produits sont frais & rafraîchissants. Il y a une carte simple mais qui invite à voyager. Bref j'y retournerai pour tester notamment le baklava au fromage.
UPDATE: you should try rouleau sujukh (meat pastry).
Wonderfully sandwich-like burgers, balance of sweet & savoury
Unbeatable tasty, reasonably priced, very very good service. Highly recommended!
