Dominic "Dick" Potenza was born in West Virginia and grew up in Utica, New York. He became well known in the Rochester - Buffalo area during the 40’s as a head-waiter in the supper-club type restaurants of the era. It was at one of these supper-clubs that he met his future wife, jazz accordionist Ann Collecchia, who performed using the stage name of Ann Russell. Together, they envisioned a fast food restaurant that would serve an original style hamburger with their own special sauce. After much thought, this original style hamburger took the form of a toasted bun containing a thin patty that would cook quickly. After they modified and combined two recipes that they brought with them from Rochester, Dick and Ann developed their famous hot sauce.

It's a nice little spot for a quick burger, hot dog, or fry. Not everyone will like the style of burger but we enjoy it. The one critique is that the chicken burger (chick-Ann) toppings are inconsistent. If you do not eat beef & are looking toward the chicken burger for an alternative, be sure to ask if they put their meat sauce on it. Often times they do. Always fresh burgers & fries!
First time trying Dic Ann's & I am pleasantly surprised ! Don't be scared by the flat burger & the sauce. It's like a burger de birria! The staff is also very friendly & we had a good chat!
Didn't want the burger to be sloppy so asked that the sauce be on the side. Didn't realize they would charge me $0.90 for the little paper cup.
$3.35 for the 591ml bottle drink is more expensive than a vending machine.
Overall the food is ok but not worth the price & wait. My two cents.
Also note for English speaking visitors, the service folks at the front didn't give a welcome feeling if you know what I mean.
We visited Dic Ann's Hamburgers (Marché Central) on Family Day & despite how busy it was, the staff did a fantastic job serving us efficiently & with a smile. The burgers here are truly unique thin, crispy, & packed with flavor. The signature sauce adds the perfect tangy, slightly spicy kick that makes them stand out.
Even with the rush, our food was served quickly, & the staff remained friendly & attentive. The nostalgic diner vibe adds to the charm, making it a great spot for a casual meal. Prices are reasonable, & the experience was well worth it.
If you're in the area & looking for a classic, no-frills burger spot, Dic Ann's is a must-visit! Highly recommended!
The food is McDonald's quality & a little bit more expensive. Service was good & I liked the packaging. The sauce is great. Quite overrated but I did enjoy it for what it is.

I went to Dic Anns for a poutine. First thing I noticed is how dirty the restaurant was. No clean table in sight. The initial service was cold but they did delivered the food very quickly. The food itself was not apetizing, the sauce was very liquid (they use their signature meat sauce instead of the classical poutine sauce). The sauce made the fries super soggy, the cheese was metled on top into one big chunky mess. Also the cheese was gratted cheese a not the authentic poutine cheese. The only good thing about it is the price to good ratio, if you like the taste you will gave a great value. Otherwise its not worth trying.
Voilà plus de 40 ans que je suis une fidèle cliente de Dic'Anns. Aujourd'hui est ma plus grande déception. J'ai dû retourner mon hamburger au comptoir pour le remplacer par un autre plus cuit. Le goût a changé. Il manque le côté piquant de la sauce. Désolée, maintenant c'est fade. Svp redonnez-nous le vrai goût de Dic'Anns & c'est avec plaisir que j'y retournerai. Merci.
Pour la première fois aujourd'hui ma poutine n,était pas chaude ,hamburger & hot dog rien de chaud la sauce était limité tiède & quand je suis retourné au comptoir me faire répondre qu,il fait froid dehors & ne sait pas ça fait combien de temps j,ai été servi, manqué de jugement & m,a rajouté de la sauce sur la poutine mais comme elle n,était pas chaude ça rien changé, au lieu de ne pas me croire vérifier en cuisine si c,est chaud le resto venait d,ouvrir, vraiment déçu au prix que ça coûte maintenant on peut s,attendre à la constance de la marque dicann .on est des habitués de cette franchise & première fois que je regrette mon dîne
