soup(34) tea(23) milk(19) noodle(14) curry(13) fish(11) recommend(11) laksa(10) style(9) robot(8) price(7) beef(7)Located at the mall. You don't come here for anything but the food. The fish soup was delicious! We also enjoyed the pork curry. We'll definitely be back!
First time dinned in since pandemic & the food were much better than takeout! Keep the good work guys!!
The food was good, as usual, but I was disappointed by a confusing interaction regarding condiments.
While having my noodle soup, I asked for chili oil. I was told that it would cost an additional $2.75 plus tax for a small spoonful. When I questioned this, I was informed that the chili oil I was describing was actually their XO sauce & therefore chargeable. A free alternative offered was Sriracha.
The problem was not the $2.75 itself. I know the difference between chili oil, XO sauce, & Sriracha, & I was specifically asking for chili oil. Being repeatedly told that what I was describing was XO sauce left me confused & frustrated, as these are clearly different condiments.
What disappointed me most was not the charge, but the explanation. A simple request for chili oil turned into an unnecessarily confusing discussion, & I left without feeling that my question had been properly understood.
The food was enjoyable, but the service experience left a poor impression & affected an otherwise pleasant meal.
Good food & price. My Szechuan spicy noodle soup with beef brisket was so yummy! Staff was very friendly as well.
This is my favorite Hong Kong style restaurant! So many options, so much to choose from. You'll most likely find something that you'll enjoy!
The katsu curry carries this restaurant on its back. Great dry (not oily) fry on the porkchop, crispy, & delicious Malaysian style coconut curry sauce. Legendary dish!!! The other things were okay, but not super special compared to other Hk diner style restaurants. Good milk tea & lemon tea too, but the katsu curry is the thing to get- also the only item with a star for recommend on the menu. Also lots of seating!
There were 4 issues when my partner & I were there the last time. Note, we are Caucasian. We have been there on at least 6 other occasions & have not had these issues before.
1, When we arrived & were seated, the waitress did not say one word, no hello or bonjour, nor a smile.
2. We were given water, when the other Asian patrons were served tea. We were not asked our preference.
3. We had made our choice when two other Asian patrons arrived about 10 minutes after us. They were served before us.
4. The dish we ordered was not available because the chef who makes it had already left. This was the teppanyaki, basically a stir-fry served on a heated cast iron dish. I cannot believe the other chefs were not able to make it.
So, we left ans probably won't be going back.
The curries were amazing & very authentic! Although, in my opinion, some items of the menu are a real hit or miss.
The worst ??? I never had. The oil was so bad, taste like industrial oil 🤢only ate 1 bite & 10.95$ wasted😱
