Review Summary

Daou offers homestyle Lebanese cuisine with a family style vibe and a long standing presence in the area. The menu includes favorites such as fattoush, hummus, babaganoush, warm vine leaves filled with meat and rice, and a chicken filet mignon plate with fries and rice. The food is described as flavorful and fresh with dishes made to order and many reviews calling it a reliable option for family dinners. Some diners note that portions may be small for the price and the pricing itself can be high. The atmosphere is seen as cozy but dated and could use an upgrade, and service is variable from good to only okay. The location in St Laurent offers convenient parking and a convenient setting. Overall Daou is regarded as a solid and dependable Lebanese option in Montreal with a focus on fresh flavors and consistency.

The shish kebab half plate was more than enough for 3 people, & the falafel was crispy! Even if the falafel was salty, it worked with the pickled radish & olives 🙂??? really great food with a soothing atmosphere

I have been recommended to try this place long time ago . We went on a slow day which was good for us. Thr food is typically lebanese , old school. I ordered a lot of appetizer, most of them were great. The fatoush however could be enhanced & was salty, it lacks too many items if I am comparing to thr remaining app. The Main dish had chicken( excellent ) , kafta ( don't try it ) & meat ( ok, but could be better). I found it too expensive for what I was getting. We ordered app & one main dish with 2 soft drink & a beer. The service was good & friendly. The only downside of this place is it is tooooo old, urgently need à to be revamped, but I guess people likes it that way. I always compare resto with the one from dubai & believe the difference is crazy.

This is an old school & traditional family run restaurant. No glitz no glam, simple & straight forward. We ordered traditional hummus, which was super smooth & tasty. Fattouch & tabouleh which were fresh & well seasoned. We also got the coriander potatoes which were drowning in lemon juice along with shish kebab, kafta, lamb & salmon. The meats & fish were all cooked perfectly. We did find that everything was salty & overall all had a very citrusy taste which isn't necessarily bad but lacked diversity. The waiters are friendly & quick & we left feeling quite full as the portions are very generous. The other customers were all Lebanese so i think this is definitely a favourite for some.
