We have been to the other Ddongnae in Toronto & Ottawa. This is our first time at this one on Bishop street in Montreal. We were here on a Saturday. There was a bit of wait. They will text you when your table is ready. It's super handy & organized. The service was attentive & prompt. The quality of food including meat, entrees & banchan are all so delicious. The quality is consistent to the other Daldongnae we visited elsewhere. Highly recommend if you want quality Korean bbq & you are in Centre ville Montreal.
The menu was pretty pricing & they required each person to order 1 protein at the table. No chicken om the menu either.but it was a nice place with friendly staff , looked a bit dingy but other than that it was okay.
10/10 experience, the meat was so good & it was such a fun interactive experience & all the side dishes were so good! P.S: must try the kimchi fried rice😋😋😋

FOOD: The quality of the meat is very good & the prices are fair. The spicy tofu soup was incredible. The kimchi pancake was good but it was a little too much cheese for me - others might like that though! SERVICE: Service wasn't great... (1) they didn't bring us plates to eat out of for a while... every time we tried to get their attention it was very difficult even though the restaurant wasn't very busy (2) they didn't explain their ordering policy well & although we had ordered 3 entrees & 3 meats they said that wasn't enough for 4 people after all the food had arrived
Daldongnae - A Taste of Korea in Downtown Montreal Daldongnae offers an authentic Korean barbecue experience that truly impressed me. Unlike all-you-can-eat spots, here you pay by the meat, but the variety & unlimited side dishes more than make up for it. From spicy cucumbers to beans, & a delightful cold potato puree mixed with apple, the side dishes were as enjoyable as the main course. There's also unlimited salad & some kind of noodles, making for a wide array of options to complement the barbecue. What really sets Daldongnae apart is that you grill the meat yourself, which adds to the immersive, traditional Korean dining experience. Having been to Korea two years ago, I was instantly transported back-the vibe is spot on. For the hour we spent there, it truly felt like being in Korea, which made the meal all the more special. Overall, Daldongnae stands out as one of the best Korean dining experiences I've had in Montreal. The only minor drawback was the bathroom, which could use a bit more attention. It wasn't problematic, but it didn't stand out the way the rest of the restaurant did. Still, that's a small suggestion for improvement in an otherwise perfect experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic Korean BBQ!

Great place, however they do not provide plates, forks or knives & you must put cooked meat on plates that had raw meat or basically hold it in your hands. They put so many little bowls on the table that you have no place literally. You must cut huge steaks with scissors (because you only have scissors & chop sticks) you are basically on your own with no help or explanation & free to make a mess, knocking the cluttered table into an even messier mess. Cost 2 people 125$ & i have no idea what i ate & i left 80% of the food there on the table. Def will not return
Best asian grill i'ver had in Montreal! This is what i am looking for in a korean bbq. The taste is accurate of what the korean bbq should be. We ordered 1 set of meat for each of us & we are full. The side dishes are so delicious. However, there are two things that should be improved in my opinion 1. The servers always disappear 2. The light is too dim. Overall, this place is recommended!
Came to this place for than 5 times since it's opened. I Love it 😋wait time during dinner hour was reasonable, only waited 15mins for the table. The meat quality is very good. Highly recommend pork jowl & boneless beef short ribs. All you can eat side dish is awesome, especially the corn cheese & the potato salad.

I've been eaten here a lot of times. The food & the service are always perfect. Except the last Sunday, I came with my friends, all the old staff were friendly, but the only girl named Ari was really rude. I & 2 other friends stood in from of the restroom for like 10 minutes because we couldn't open the door, we tried to knock on the door but no one answered. We asked Ari to check if someone was inside, but she said "Probably" & left. Then we waited another 2 minutes & another old staff saw us waiting there too long, he asked Ari to open the door. At that time, she had to get the key, open it for us & leave without a word. We were like what the hell is she doing? When my friend used the washroom, Ari passed by me & looked sideways at me. One more thing, when we ask her for refill the side, she was not happy & rude. We were really upset because of her, I think she will make the customer feel very bad about the restaurant if she still behaves like that.
My favorite Korean BBQ spot in Montreal! The place is beautiful, & the best part is the high-quality meat & generous portions of side dishes. I've been there many times, & they never disappoint. The staff is always friendly & welcoming, & I'd love to visit even more. Just a heads up: don't go alone, as they have a policy that requires at least two portions of meat to be ordered per table. Highly recommended!
Merci beaucoup Tony! Services Impeccable, très recommendé!!
Good food, friendly staff, would come back in a heart beat. Left full & happy. Really enjoyed the warm aesthetic. We just stopped by & had a great time didn't need a reservation or anything. If you're in the area go for it eh!
