So before I flew home from Montreal I took the train out to Cunningham's. Now dear reader, given how most restaurants operate, there a good chance you've never had fresh chicken wings in your life. For most places it is apparently much too difficult to purchase chicken wings from a butcher & then cook them without the use of a freezer & multinational corporation in the middle of the process. Not so at Cunningham's. The wings are exquisite. They are crisp externally & juicy internally, like the fried poultry of the gods. The rubs & sauces are ambrosia (Pro tip: get inferno sauce on the side of whatever you order. It's delicious & not THAT hot.) In addition to that, the staff are fantastic. I sat at the bar & the bartender (Jamie, I think) was fantastic in terms of recommendations & a bit of pub banter. Its also very Anglo friendly if you're from out of town. Are the wings alone worth a 2 hour detour from downtown Montreal to the airport? Maybe? But the whole vibe & awesome staff made it worthwhile for me & I will 100% be back when I'm next in Montreal. if you're local? Get on it.
Amazing wings. Great beer & whisky selections. Came here with a group of friends after work & had an awesome time! Talk to Pat, the owner, if he's around. He's a fun guy.
BRING BACK THE GARLIC FRIES. REMOVE THE CURRY FRIES THEY SUCK. BRING BACK THE ABILITY TO SWAP FOR POUTINE. 15 years we've been coming here! Service is great. Love the wings but main thing is garlic fries need to come back!!!
No more pitchers nor towers?!? That was pretty disappointing for one of me & my friends' favorite pub honestly. Used to go there a lot during college & uni. Went back recently & doesn't seem to be the same anymore 😕
Guiness 5*. They have only 1 IPA but it's really good 😍 Fries 🍟 were oily for my taste but that's subjective.
What a great place, had the opportunity to chat with the owner tonight. Such a nice person, loves his staff & clients, Jim truly enjoys his work. We were there for celebrating 20 years of Cunninghams! Amazing food, great service, we were able to book a table & enjoyed some amazing live music! GO, bring your friends & family, you won't regret it!! Cheers
The main highlights of this place were that it took 1 hour for the food to come, they did not look like they had many staff. Food was cold & not great. Appetizers were terrific, fried pickles & wings are delicious. I'd say to only come here if your just a group of 4, our table of 8 was not very impressed.
My wife & I stopped in by chance, due the fact that most of the other local restaurants were closed for the season & Cunningham's Pup was open. We both ordered burgers & some deep fried pickles to start & everything we ordered was very well prepared & tasty. I definitely recommend the Spicy Bourbon Burger with Bacon Jam. Very satisfying burger & excellent fries. Also there was a live performance with Jeff & Kim to add to the great atmosphere. All in all we enjoyed our time at Cunningham's Pub very much. & I think you will too. Enjoy
The Irish pub in the heart of Ste Anne is a bustling gem with a fantastic ambiance & very lively live music. The friendly service adds to the overall warmth. We tried the chef's special featuring a delightful Fish tacos, brie spicy cheese with bread, & lamb with rice-all delicious! The prices are reasonable, but be sure to make a reservation as it's always busy. I requested a window seat & snagged a great spot, making it a perfect spot for those craving an authentic Irish pub experience in West Island of Montreal.
Been here a few times & usually enjoy it. I went with a group of friends. When waiting for 2 more people to show up to order our food, we were asked at 8:30 if we wanted to order yet. Wanting to wait for friends, we said not just yet. Unfortunately, we were not aware & our waiter failed to mention that their kitchen was closing. At 8:45 when we were ready to order, our waiter said "sorry, kitchen is closed". So, couldn't get any food. While it is yummy, I'm not giving full stars for this customer service, haven't been back since.
Great patio vibe. Just annoying you have to order food to drink (& they don't have $2 chips for you). So,I got the cheapest thing on the menu, basket of fries for $7 (which were good). Only improvement on service side is to great you with a glass of water.
Why is this not done anymore?
