About

Cunninghams maintains the authentic spirit of an Irish pub by emphasizing hearty, traditional fare served in a robust, community-focused setting. The menu features signature pub staples such as crispy fish and chips, savory shepherd’s pie, and slow-cooked stews that prioritize quality ingredients. Fresh, garden-forward salads provide a lighter contrast to the heavier comfort food offerings often found on the standard menu. The interior design reflects classic tavern aesthetics with wood-heavy furnishings and a layout conducive to casual social interaction. Guests find a consistent selection of draft beers that pair specifically with the salt-forward and deep-flavored profile of the kitchen output. This establishment functions as a dedicated hub for those seeking reliable, flavorful meals in a grounded environment that avoids unnecessary artifice or culinary pretension.

Review Summary

Cunninghams is widely regarded as a staple Irish pub that offers a welcoming atmosphere, live music, and a prime location near the water in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. The establishment is best known for its chicken wings, which are frequently described as large, juicy, and flavorful, with many patrons calling them the best in the region. While many visitors praise the friendly service and consistent food quality, some have noted occasional inconsistencies in portion sizes, particularly regarding fries, and mixed experiences with service speed and culinary execution on certain dishes. Overall, it remains a favorite destination for sports fans, families, and locals looking for a relaxed pub experience with a solid selection of beer.

The wings were dry from being way overcooked & the spicy sauce was disappointing. The old 911 sauce was a lot better. The quality has really gone down over the years.

I have been a long time customer & patron of Cunninghams since forever, but I have not been able to patronize the Saint- Anne place in over 2 1/2 years. On Wednesday, on a whim, me & my brother decide to have lunch after an appointment I had . We where greatly disappointed with our food. The decors has not changed, it wasn't crowded nor overly loud. Starting with the good, the beer was cold & went down easily! It was cool inside & seating was plentiful. Now for the bad, the food was mediocre & generic. The burger tasted like it came from McDonald's ( salty!, yet no flavor), the Philly cheese steak the same. It lacked seasoning, the bun was cold, the' cheese' sauce was lava hot. The fries use to be my favorite, but had one we had tasted stale, with an after taste of burnt frying oil. The service was OK, but slow despite not being busy. I will have to think twice about going back in the near future. Sorry.

I ordered the 6 wings tossed in Hallelujah sauce with fries, & they were incredible. The sauce tasted like a spicy buffalo with a perfect balance of acidity & heat, flavourful without overpowering the wings. The wings themselves were huge, perfectly cooked, & juicy. The fries were surprisingly great too, with simple but delicious seasoning. These are easily my favourite wings thanks to the size, execution, & solid sauce. I'll definitely be getting them again.
Definitely worth the try

A unique menu item from the East Coast is a Donair, & it's nearly impossible to find in Montreal. Cunningham's prepares an interpretation of this classic East Coast dish. Expect a far more modest portion & ask for extra sauce.

Wings are HUGE, I thought the prices for 6 or 12 Wings were high until we they arrived. Easily the largest Wings I've ever had. Great sauces, cooked perfectly. Staff were nice, service was quick. Good selection of beers. No complaints

came here hoping for a good meal & left pretty disappointed. i ordered the'spicy bacon bourbon burger', which sounded amazing on the menu, but it was overcooked to the point of being dry & barely had any of the'spicy-bourbon' sauce on it. for the price, it honestly felt like a scam. to top it off, our server miscounted the change for someone in our group & didn't bother double-checking the bill. not the absolute worst dining experience, but definitely not somewhere i'd rush back to.

Cunningham's Pub delivers a solid lunch experience. The chicken wings-sweet BBQ (my fave) & honey garlic-were hot, crispy, well-sauced, & seriously tasty. Big, juicy wings done right. Paired with a flavourful poutine & a cold pint, it made for a satisfying meal I'll definitely be going back for again soon.

No wonder they are said to have great wings. The wings were cooked perfectly. I think that's their secret...sauces, unless extraordinary, anyone can get right. Often, places don't get the proper cook on the wings...either soggy, overcooked, undercooked & raw-ish or gelatinous, etc.
The wings are huge so even more surprising that they were able to get such an even, well cooked(fried) chicken wing. Their secret is the consistency of these well cooked wings.

My friend told me that Cunningham's has the best wings he's had in his life--& let's just say that man is not a stranger to the deep fried arts. So before I flew home from Montreal I took the train out to Cunningham's. Now dear reader, given how most restaurants operate, there a good chance you've never had fresh chicken wings in your life. For most places it is apparently much too difficult to purchase chicken wings from a butcher & then cook them without the use of a freezer & multinational corporation in the middle of the process. Not so at Cunningham's. The wings are exquisite. They are crisp externally & juicy internally, like the fried poultry of the gods. The rubs & sauces are ambrosia (Pro tip: get inferno sauce on the side of whatever you order. It's delicious & not THAT hot.) In addition to that, the staff are fantastic. I sat at the bar & the bartender (Jamie, I think) was fantastic in terms of recommendations & a bit of pub banter. Its also very Anglo friendly if you're from out of town. Are the wings alone worth a 2 hour detour from downtown Montreal to the airport? Maybe? But the whole vibe & awesome staff made it worthwhile for me & I will 100% be back when I'm next in Montreal. if you're local? Get on it.
