Cunninghams maintains the authentic spirit of an Irish pub by emphasizing hearty, traditional fare served in a robust, community-focused setting. The menu features signature pub staples such as crispy fish and chips, savory shepherd’s pie, and slow-cooked stews that prioritize quality ingredients. Fresh, garden-forward salads provide a lighter contrast to the heavier comfort food offerings often found on the standard menu. The interior design reflects classic tavern aesthetics with wood-heavy furnishings and a layout conducive to casual social interaction. Guests find a consistent selection of draft beers that pair specifically with the salt-forward and deep-flavored profile of the kitchen output. This establishment functions as a dedicated hub for those seeking reliable, flavorful meals in a grounded environment that avoids unnecessary artifice or culinary pretension.
Cunninghams is widely celebrated as a premier neighborhood destination, particularly renowned for serving some of the best chicken wings in the Montreal area. Beyond the food, the pub offers a warm, welcoming, and festive atmosphere that makes it an ideal spot for catching a sports game, enjoying live music, or spending time with friends and family. Located in a charming area perfect for a post-meal stroll, the establishment is frequently praised for its friendly staff, impressive selection of beers, and overall cozy pub vibe that captures an authentic experience.
A year ago (July 25') my son came home from his first solo adventure with a friend on the public buses. They had a story to tell. They ended up in St Anne, walked around & ended up at Cunningham's for lunch. They ordered food & were then approached by who they described as'the owner'. They talked about their adventure & explained to the gentleman they just graduated from grade 8. One way or another after they finished their meal they were told the meal was on him.
They were so excited about that
I just wanted'the owner' to know what a wonderful gesture that was. It will undoubtedly be a part of my son's & his friends memory.
My wife, 2 boys & I occasionally dine there & are never disappointed with the wings (& tap beers for the adults 😀) & the atmosphere. Service staff are always very friendly & accommodating.
If you're looking for some of the best chicken wings, this is the place. The wings are consistently delicious, generously sized, & always cooked perfectly. My go-to order is the lemon pepper & honey garlic wings with a side of ranch-you really can't go wrong.
The fries are great, the drinks are solid, & the atmosphere is exactly what you'd want from a neighborhood pub: relaxed & welcoming.
It's a bit of a drive if you're coming from central Montreal, but it's absolutely worth making the trip to Saint-Anne-de-Bellevue. The location right on the main street makes it a great spot to grab dinner & enjoy a walk afterward.
This is my go-to place whenever I feel like treating myself to a cheat meal, & it has never disappointed. Highly recommend!
Amazing place to watch the Canada game! The atmosphere was fantastic, & the owner (I believe) was very friendly & welcoming. Everything was well organized for the match, & the whole experience was great. Highly recommended for sports fans! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I have been a long time customer & patron of Cunninghams since forever, but I have not been able to patronize the Saint- Anne place in over 2 1/2 years. On Wednesday, on a whim, me & my brother decide to have lunch after an appointment I had . We where greatly disappointed with our food. The decors has not changed, it wasn't crowded nor overly loud. Starting with the good, the beer was cold & went down easily! It was cool inside & seating was plentiful. Now for the bad, the food was mediocre & generic. The burger tasted like it came from McDonald's ( salty!, yet no flavor), the Philly cheese steak the same. It lacked seasoning, the bun was cold, the' cheese' sauce was lava hot. The fries use to be my favorite, but had one we had tasted stale, with an after taste of burnt frying oil. The service was OK, but slow despite not being busy. I will have to think twice about going back in the near future. Sorry.
I hadnt been to Cunninghams since I was in University but I was pleasantly surprised to see that it's still great after all these years. We enjoyed a beer & some fried pickles (which were pretty good) & the cauliflower'wings' (which were more General Tao flavored, they were okay) but really for me it's the atmosphere of the bar that makes the experience. Just a good vibe overall.
By far & away best chicken wings in Montreal. Fish & Chips also incredible. Great place to catchup with friends & watch the game with some great food & a beer.
9.3/10
I ordered the 6 wings tossed in Hallelujah sauce with fries, & they were incredible. The sauce tasted like a spicy buffalo with a perfect balance of acidity & heat, flavourful without overpowering the wings. The wings themselves were huge, perfectly cooked, & juicy. The fries were surprisingly great too, with simple but delicious seasoning. These are easily my favourite wings thanks to the size, execution, & solid sauce. I'll definitely be getting them again.
Definitely worth the try

This is my favorite pub & I've been coming here for a long time. However, the fries portions have been getting noticeably smaller lately. It's disappointing, especially since they used to be 3 times bigger before. I hope this can be improved.
(Edited) fries that come with chicken wings
