💯 FALL OFF THE BONE LONG MEATY RIBS …. Remember this phrase… Congratulations Team Fernando… you completely knocked this out of the park …Amazing Ribs… Bar B Barn Style IS BACK.
I had an old box waiting for the day when ribs be back.
I had the apple sauce at Home & had a feast.
The Philippine Buffet food is also 💯.
Thank you Fernando… you made my week!
Yes… reserve in advance … they go fast.
The BB barn ribs are over hyped: $50 for a full rack of 12 ribs. That is prohibitively expensive.
I just ordered the Bar-B-Barn ribs. It is absolutely amazing. It is the only place to buy it once that restaurant closed. Right now, you need to place an order one day ahead in order to buy the ribs. I don't know if it will change once the hype dies down. Best advice is to call ahead. Would love to go back & try their Filipino food once they have time to make it.
What an incredible experience there!
For those in Montreal area, I'm sure that a lot of you remember the famous Bar B Barn restaurant that was known for its incredible pork ribs, & when it officially closed a few years back, you were crushed.
Well, a few weeks ago, a comment on Facebook came up about the restaurant, Fernando- a Philippine cuisine-themed restaurant whose owner & head chef had worked for years at Bar B Barn until it closed. & when he opened his own establishment, he chose to add the familiar recipe to his menu.
Today, we went all the way out to the DDO region to give it a try to find out that all the ribs had been reserved for the day! We were so dissapointed, but the owner had one order that was never picked up & so they hooked us up so that we could at least try it.
& let me tell you- the hype DID NOT DISSAPOINT!!!
We also tried an order of their pork siomai (a Philippine take of dumplings) which were incredibly tender & flavorful, with a homemade chili garlic sauce, which I personally loved as it was wonderfully spicy (do not need a lot) & had that pleasant warm feeling as it goes down, unlike other places whose chili sauces just burn your mouth & sit uncomfortably after three bites.
So for anyone planning on trying out Fernando's- be sure to reserve the ribs at least a day in advance (BEYOND WORTH IT) but make sure to give their other food a try, too.
Just heard recently about the ribs. I went there immediately to give it a try. I found the people were very nice. Everybody had a smile. The ribs were fantastic. However, I would have to say they are 98% of what the originals tasted like it's just missing that one little thing but it's not big enough for me to stop going & I love the tomato rice all in all, I give it very high recommendations you really can't go wrong. I'm going to try some of their other original Filipino food next.
My filipino mother in law immediately said its just like in the Philippines!! A very high compliment. Not one item was thought to be any less than perfect. Spaghetti & fried chicken, shumai, lumpia shanghai, fried pork, & WOW the bar b barn ribs!! Masarap. Bravo chef Fernando
My husband & I had the Bar-B-Barn ribs, & they were every bit as delicious as we remembered! The taste brought back great memories, they're just as amazing as they were back in the day.
Great job, Team Fernando! Thank you for the wonderful meal :)
Watch out. Went there for the ribs. They where not like BarBBarb. Plus they made me sick after eating them. Dangerous! Called food inspectioners, they said it's not the first complaint. Stay away. Far away.
