Reviews consistently praise Cuisine Auntdai for authentic Chinese cuisine, with many noting flavorful, well-seasoned dishes and generous portions that are great for sharing or taking home. The dining experience is described as warm and welcoming, thanks to attentive hosts and a friendly staff, and the atmosphere is often called cozy and relaxing with decor that includes a bookshelf and tasteful touches. Value stands out, with affordable prices and big portions making it a top choice for groups. Some reviewers mention occasional downsides, such as a few dishes feeling a bit oily or not as spicy as hoped, and the space can feel tight for large parties, with delivery options sometimes missing certain items. Overall, Cuisine Auntdai is viewed as a reliable, beloved option for traditional Sichuan and authentic Chinese cuisine in Montreal, earning frequent return visits and broad recommendations.
We came here with a big group of 20+ people, & everything was organized so well. The staff set up all the tables nicely before we arrived. The food was delicious & perfect for sharing with a big group. Service was super fast & friendly; even with 20 people, the first dishes came out in about 15 minutes, & then new hot dishes kept coming every 5-10 minutes. Everything was fresh, tasty, & hot. Prices are also very affordable for group dining. If you're planning to host a group party, I highly recommend this place. The only downside is that the room is quite small & cozy, so it can feel a bit tight when the group is large. Overall, totally worth it!
We ordered braised pork with sweet potato noodles, general tao, ribs & a side of rice.
Braised pork with sweet potatoes noodles:
The noodles were very tasty but the braised porc lacked taste. The sauce had a watery sour taste almost bitter. I wish there were more noodles in the plate, there were about half a cup worth of noodles for maybe a cup & a half of meat. 2/10
General Tao: Very soft batter. The meat was good but there was not that much sauce. 6.5/10
Ribs: The sauce had a watery & sour taste almost bitter. 2/10
Rice: under salted. It might be a good thing if the side dishes are very flavourful but dishes we ordered were lacking flavour.
We ordered through Uber Eats & the ratings on our dishes were pretty high (90%+ with 700+ votes) so we're a bit surprised by the quality of the food we received. Maybe it was a one off.

Ordered the crispy fish & side of steamed rice. Both were very tasty. The fish had szechuan pepper spice & the was a bit fatty so you have a rich flavor. The rice was very well prepared & sticky. The price was ok - about $22. & the portion was also ok. I got full so it was good. I can recommend the spot as a quick lunch & it's possible, if not super hungry or big eater to split a main dish & rice with another.
We loved everything about this meal. Walked in & immediately seated for a week day lunch. We ordered pork belly, beef & broccoli, salt & pepper fish, & beef sautay. The food was so tasty, we will recommend to everyone. Feigang Fei (owner) was personable & made great food recommendations. Lovely overall experience.
I have been probably 50 times at Aunt Dai. I never get tired of coming back. My wife lives it, my kids love it. The food is just too good: fresh & tasty. Highly recommended to anyone searching for Chinese cuisine in town
Edit - response to owner's comments: I feel bad for leaving an unfavorable review so I'm sorry about that. I've eaten at Just Noodles (Masson & St Joseph) since 2005. I frequently order the big bowl of wonton soup as a meal. It's a big bowl of tasty chicken broth & you can taste a hint of MSG in the broth. You can taste the spices in the wontons & everything is tasty, even the noodles, which soak-in the tasty broth. There's NOTHING left in the bowl when I'm done :) They also make a FANTASTIC Cantonese Chow Mein on crispy noodles (sadly, it depends on who is chef though - it is sometimes very unremarkable). You clearly are a talented chef & as I said, my meal was clearly well-prepared & appetizing-looking. I think that as a mid fifties Canadian guy who has eaten "Chinese food" all my life, I'm used to MSG in my Asian cuisine. Honestly though, the imperial rolls weren't fully cooked. The wrappers were still a little mushy on the inside, which may have contributed to the off taste. I really wish I had tried your shuǐ zhǔ niú ròu. I assume that' VERY tasty but I always order Cantonese Chow Mein the first time I try an Asian resto. Original review: After reading so many glowing reviews, I was anxious to try this place. I came for a Sunday lunch & ordered wonton soup, imperial rolls & the cantonese chow mein. The soup was literally flavorless. The'broth' is just hot water, not even a drop of sesame oil. The wontons had no discernible taste, not even salt. Imperial rolls are easy to make! Everyone loves mine but here, they're equally bland. I didn't finish either of my appetizers. The chow mein was well-prepared, looked appetizing & did taste ok but I've concluded that the cook here is afraid of using spices. I drowned it in a bunch of sriracha sauce to give it some taste. Sadly, if this is what it's like there, I won't be going back.

Visited AuntDai at the tail end of a trip to Montreal when we were craving some Asian cuisine. We had the hot & sour soup, wonton soup, Cantonese fried noodles & seafood & tofu wok. The latter was excellent; the noodles were good but I was expecting some of the noodles to be soft or moist, but they were all crispy. Not a deal breaker, but not what I was used to or expecting. Flavours were great overall - definitely adapted to western tastes but still very tasty. The space is nice & comfortable & the staff were friendly. Definitely worth a visit.
The food is amazing here! Very authentic, tasty Chinese food with great portions. I've been twice & both times have been consistent, no matter what you order. The beef & broccoli has a light savoury flavour, & is not greasy at all with lots of crunchy fresh broccoli. The stir fried pork intestines come with onions, spicy green pepper, onions & carrots, & has a great spicy seasonings with numby peppercorns. The intestines are cooked & cleaned very well, no stinky flavours at all. The braised pork belly is always tender & flavourful, & the sweet potato noodles soak up the sauce very nicely. Each bowl of rice is only $1.50! All in all, very tasty & generous portions at affordable prices. Each dish ranges from $10-20 (even the seafood). Highly recommended, great for sharing dishes & family friendly environment.
Tasty Chinese dishes, nice staff, fast service, & very reasonable prices. We usually take a main dish, with a bowl of steamed rice, & then share a plate of sauté vegetable to share. & a bottle of saki to share. I recommend 2 side dishes toi absolutely try with your meal: dry-fried green beans, & eggplant dish.
