I took my daughter to this restaurant. Because we were seeing a show at Place De Arts. The decor of the restaurant is absolutely incredible, I just love the Art Deco feel. The service was wonderful. But as for the food, I was a little bit disappointed. I would say it was average. I found everything that we ate was underseasoned. We ate salmon tartare, chicken breast, & the Angus beef dish. Again, I would say it was average. I would have liked a bit more of a flavor full experience. But, I do love that they have gluten-free & vegan options
I hate leaving bad reviews but I need to vent. I treated myself to the Christmas Table d'Hôte by reservation only, for which I had to pre-pay. My 1st gripe - they charged 20% service instead of the standard 15%. I would not have cared had the evening been perfect & for $210+, I had high expectations. ($250+ actually, because I ordered bread & 2 drinks) But alas... It started off pretty basic - an amuse served on a pâte sablé (like every other tasting menu this season) followed by scallops followed by the rack of lamb. & that is where everything fell apart. Firstly, they served the rack whole - 4 bones. It looked impressive & had my last name been Flintstone, I would have rejoiced. But as I am not a cartoon, I had to grab the bones with my hands to try & cut through the chops to make the rest of the carving manageable. After struggling with the darn thing & accidentally flinging 2 mushrooms into my lap, I asked my waiter Pierre, whose excellent service saved this review from being 1 star, to have the kitchen cut it for me. When he returned, what I found in my plate was 1 chop, 1/2 chop & 2 bones with nothing but fat & gristle. (do they not know how to properly trim a rack of lamb?) Did I mention I paid $210 for this meal? So I asked another waiter - Veronique, also lovely - what happened to the rest of the meat? She sent the maitre D to me who had nothing more to say than it was the standard portion (not true - everybody else was served 3 full chops with the extra bone for decor) but finally offered to see if there was a larger piece in the kitchen. I refused to send my plate back again (can you blame me?) so I ate what they served. But I can't help wonder why they singled me out for that piece. In the end, I felt disrespected & it ruined my whole experience. This is yet another over-priced restaurant serving the same food as every other high-end eatery in the city with little to recommend it over anywhere else less pricey. Lesson learned, at least.

Great decor & atmosphere, but apart from that the place is definitely overrated. We were a party of 10 which became a party of 9 due to an emergency & they weren't happy about this. They tried imposing a group menu on us, finally settled on à la carte if everyone ordered an appetizer & main. I was able to negotiate getting 2-3 appetizers as none of the mains were interesting to me. I ordered French onion soup which was bitter, likely from burnt onions. How you mess up something as basic as French onion soup in a French bistro is beyond me. I ordered a tarte fine which was a little bland, but all right & some oysters which were fresh. I ordered Le Figaro one of their signature cocktails which didn't taste like much. The service was nothing exceptional. Never got a water refill, even when I asked. The waitress wasn't mean or anything, but basic stuff like refills asking if we wanted repeat drinks etc was lacking. They imposed a 15% service charge at the end categorically, I guess because of the group size. Would have been good to indicate on the menu or inform everyone beforehand as a courtesy. If you're an instagrammer I guess it's okay, but if you value good food & decent service, I wouldn't go. I think 3 stars is generous.
The main meals were delicious. Well plated. The service was reasonable. The entrees were also beautifully decorated, but I feel we were served 1 scallop sliced thinly. Would have liked to finish the dinner with a decaf but none was available
The food was amazing, well cooked & served well. The service was amazing & we had a great time there. The ambience is very good too, some unique decor. They also have some vegetarian & vegan dishes. The smoked Oyster mushrooms had a unique flavor to it.
The decor is incredible & very well put together. The wine list is lacking at the moment but they said they are in transition to a new list. Food wise, I took a salmon tartare but couldn't taste the salmon over the sauce. The duck was cooked beautifully & the accompanying mushroom mash was great. The price was reasonable, I will go again & taste different appetizers.
