Afficher toutspectacle(33) club(27) drink(18) concert(18) bar(16) shows(14) sound(11) music(10) hommage(9) floor(9) event(8) crowd(7)Venue was packed to see Geordie Greep on April 1st. What an amazing performance, easily the best show I've been to in my life so far. Security seemed active & very polite which is always nice, water was cold & kept me alive. I noticed this venue seemed a bit warmer than most do, just make sure to drink plenty of water. The balcony area is fairly big but I had to stand the whole show due to getting there half an hour after doors open. It was a very tight 3 hr drive from Ottawa & I would do it as many times as needed to see Greep here again. As always the crowd energy in Montreal is so high, while still remaining very respectful to the music. Sound system was loud & clear, not as loud as some shows but plenty. I had no issues with the place would go again. :D
7/10 - Fun Venue, But Some Real Drawbacks
Club Soda is a solid spot for live shows & events, with good energy & a central location that makes it easy to get to. The atmosphere during performances is fun, & the crowd vibe is generally great.
That said, there are definitely some downsides. The drinks are way too expensive, especially for what you're getting, which takes a bit of the enjoyment out of the night. On top of that, the bathrooms really need attention-they're cramped, not particularly clean, & feel pretty neglected considering how busy the venue gets.
Overall, it's a decent place to catch a show & have a good time, but the pricing & facilities keep it from being truly great. Worth going for the performance itself-just maybe don't plan on too many drinks.
Great venue, nice staff & seems to always have a fun respectful crowd.
Too crowded bad layout poor sound uncomfortable chairs - packed in like cattle
I recently checked out Club Soda, a comedy club that's part of the Just for Laughs festival. The tables were set up well & the staff kept the place clean, which is a definite plus. If you're looking for a good spot, get there early - it's first-come, first-served.
The comedians were very professional & delivered solid sets. I appreciated that they didn't shy away from edgy material, but still managed to keep it awkward. The crowd was mature & knew when to laugh & when to keep quiet, which made for a good show.
Overall, Club Soda is a solid spot for comedy. The comedians & staff do their jobs well, & the crowd's generally receptive. It's not super flashy, but it gets the job done. If you're a fan of stand-up & want a good laugh, it's worth checking out. Just don't expect anything too out of the ordinary, it's a tried & true comedy club format.
I'd go back, & I'd recommend it to others. The comedians were funny & the atmosphere was great. Not bad for a night out in Montreal. If you're in the area & looking for some laughs, Club Soda's a decent choice.
A really nice place. Well organised people. The show was amazing & the crowd hectic.
Went to the Night Lovell concert & it was epic, the crowd was lit & the ambiance was amazing. The fact the club was small was exceptional in the energy the people were emitting. It's my second time coming to this place for a concert & both times have delivered. Truly amazing.
Great medium sized venue,
I've mostly been to general admission shows, where the whole floor is for a standing crowd, however sometimes they open the second floor which offers seated places on a first come first served basis.
