Chilanga Taqueria comes across as a casual, cozy spot with generous portions and affordable prices, and many reviews praise the tacos, birria, suadero and other fillings as tasty and authentic, with drinks like margaritas that are well received. The menu is varied, including pastor, shrimp, chorizo, potatoes and enchiladas, and several readers call it the best tacos in town. The interior is described as basic but welcoming, and the staff are often friendly and quick, although service can be slow and experiences sometimes vary. The location in the Village attracts crowds for friends, family, dates or solo visits, and a small outdoor terrace is noted. A few reviews warn to check food before leaving due to occasional dryness or blandness, and there is mention of a no takeout policy in one note. Overall, Chilanga Taqueria is viewed as a strong option for authentic Mexican cooking in a casual, affordable setting, with experiences ranging from exceptionally delicious meals to occasional inconsistencies.
This place is comfort food heaven. Food is delicious, it cake super quick, meat is flavorful, tacos are soft & tasty, & the churros....omg the churros!! Crispy, fresh, not too sweet. I would give 10 stars if I could.
Los tacos estan pasables, la carne que nos toco estaba muy seca y cocida, parecía chicharrón. Los precios son justos y los tacos grandes. La atención es básica, no son tan amables.
Great Mexican place in the middle of gay village in Montreal. Very busy place with wide selection of Mexican dishes expanding over few states. Great taste of dishes. Beer selection is not bad. Fast service & it feels as home kitchen. This outlet is nice to try. Simple, tasty with great service. Will be added to my list when I come back again prices are fabulous & not expensive at all nice place for either lunch or dinner. Need to try more items

As a Mexican, this restaurant is as authentic as it gets. We ordered tacos de Cochinita, Torta de Cochinita, Tacos de Bistec, nachos, tacos de pastor, & aguas frescas, horchata & tamarindo, EVERYTHING was delicious. I would have loved that the outdoor area had a couple of umbrellas so we can eat outside, but that didn’t change the good the food was. Totally recommend Chilanga taqueria.
