The quesadilla was delicious. Also the churros were a great dessert. The guy serving us was very helpful. The interior of the place could be a bit warmer. Nice we could try typical Mexican drinks.
Best tacos in town. I am mexican, I know what I am talking about. The tacos are tasty & huge.
small mexican restaurant in the Gay Village. The waiter was very kind & helped us with the menu. Amazing portions of food for fairly cheap prices. Food was a bit cold & bland.
Best place to get quick authentic taquitos & other amazing Mexican specialties, this is my go-to place for sure!
Best Mexican restaurant in Montreal, this is the real flavor of the Mexican food. I recommend the Tacos al Pastor.
Great Mexican place located in the middle of the village. Food was fresh & tasty for a really good price. Lots of options on the menu for both meat & seafood, will definitely give it another go to try more stuff.
Looked for a real mexican restaurant in Montreal for years, & I can now say that Chillanga is THE BEST Mexican restaurant in Montreal
As someone who appreciates authentic Mexican cuisine & has spent considerable time exploring the culinary scene in Mexico City & its surrounding areas, I can confidently say that the flavors here are truly genuine. From the rich beans to the fresh salsa, each dish brings a taste of Mexico to the table. The Birria is tender & flavourful, & the fresh cilantro adds a refreshing note to every bite (Emphasis on Fresh as a lot of restaurants do not nail this very important detail). The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the location on St. Catherine in Montreal. Portions are just right, & the service is prompt & friendly, making for a satisfying dining experience.
I've eaten at Mexican restaurants all over, this place wasn't good. The tacos tasted bland & dry, & no matter how much lime I squeezed onto it, it did not make it taste any better. The tacos were expensive! You would think for the price, they would taste good. The chips for the guacamole were burnt, & had no flavor. The churros we got for dessert barely had any sugar on it, & tasted like sourdough bread. A Chipotle has better food than this restaurant. Service was super slow, had to wave down someone anytime I wanted something (they were all talking at the front).
Wide variety of authentic dishes at affordable prices. Beer tower (3 liters) for $40 is a great deal! It's never empty & there's a reason for it, best mexican food in the neighborhood.
Unfortunatly can hardly speak french & minimal english. Food okay but if being in Mexico in the heart of the gay Village is your fancy, where you cannot be served in your own language I guess that's the place. 25$ buffet all you can eat is gross, soft mexican stools & irritating collon... ____________________________________________________ Still do not have a website & still not have a permit for booze! Cheap eats, not or me. I would of loved to try it.
This is authentic Birria my friends! I love coming here with my gf & just enjoy the food & the great service. There are always mexicans eating here so that is the most tale telling sign.
Not going to lie, i never dislike food, had burritos many times at various places, this one was so blend i could barely finish it. Had no taste to it as well. I couldnt even see the beans inside, & im sure something inside was stale. Im not mexican, but usually burritos have rice in them, except the Southern californian burritos & Sonoran burritos. Would have returned it but I dont like drama & it was only 20 dollars. Actually was disgusted when eating, just finished because my culture respects food. Will never go back. The portion size is small too & the potatoes come on the side they better didnt put it, there were only 6-7 tiny pieces accompanied by half raw onions. Very dissatisfied. Had to buy Jarritos to rinse the taste in my mouth.
