This place has the feel of a rearranged American diner with small casse-croute focused menu. I was hungry enough for two items but wasn't feeling a poutine, so I went for a cheeseburger & a hot dog. The pricing here is sensible except for the hot dog, which wasn't particularly special either. The cheeseburger was spectacular, however. Amazing texture, perfect composition. Service wasn't great. The cook was nice but the girls working there could have been friendlier.
I was looking for a new dinner experience & came across this restaurant during an online search. I ordered their special hot dog & French fries. Everything was fresh & delicious, & the sausages had a unique flavor since they're made in-house. I'll definitely visit this place again & will post another review later with some photos.

Je cherchais une nouvelle expérience pour souper & j'ai découvert ce resto en faisant quelques recherches en ligne. J'ai commandé leur hot-dog spécial avec des frites. Tout était frais & vraiment bon, & les saucisses avaient un goût unique puisqu'elles sont faites maison. Je vais certainement revenir & je laisserai un autre avis plus tard avec quelques photos.

Montreal has some serious smash burgers game & I must say, Chez Tousignant, is a big player, had a double cheese burger & it did not disappoint at all, from the juicy perfectly seasoned patties to the home cut fries😀

Not good for big order. Forgot a lot of things in the order. The food is not bad but not incredible. The cabbage salad is dry & little. Expensive for the quantity of the product. Homemade French fries.
Simple & flavourful , they do a killer poutine , the poutine gravy must have chicken broth , sauce does not taste salty. & fries are great too. Don't miss it!
One if the best smash burgers I've had in a long time. They are doing everything right. Recommend the Tousignant cheese burger. The fried are more than enough for two people. Great fast food near Jean Talon market

Went with my son. He had the Tousignant poutine. It was good but small for 18$. I took the double burger. It was very good. I would of probably eaten 2. They also have beers. Seating arrangements are a little tight. Staff was friendly.
Went there for the first time. Tried the double cheese burger & the Tousignant burger. Both were very good sized considering smash burgers are often very small. Both were very satisfying but the double cheeseburger was a tad salty. Also tried the regular poutine & it was very good. Fries, cheese curds & gravy were well put together. Perfect ratios. Regular hot dog was good also but does not taste like a regular hot dog. I think the meat was chicken. I don't usually order hot dogs but wanted to try it. I wish they had onion rings. I would definitely go back as the food was very satisfying at a reasonable price & the quality of the ingredients was apparent. The service was also excellent & friendly.
French fries are a bit too burned & 90% of it are tiny 1 inch pieces. Be aware that they put a special blend spices on top instead of just salt so disappointing if you want plain french fries & not a "barbecue chips" taste. Overall I expected better so I won't come back. Expensive for something that you don't even want to finish
Poutine review only! Heard great things about Chez Tousignant's poutine & was excited to try it! Overall pretty decent. I liked the seasoning on the fries which you typically don't see, & altogether the flavour was good. Ratios are where it fell short for me. It could definitely use more gravy & at least another half layer of curds. Given the price & my preferences, there's a decent list of other spots I'd get my poutine fix at, but their burgers & dogs look incredible so I'd stop by again to try those!
This is place is consistently good. The burgers are fresh & a good size. The fries are great, they taste like they are fried in peanut oil & have that texture. I've eaten here a few times & it has been good each time.
With a limited local menu this establishment serves it with a smile. Their hot dog & fries are great. Customer service is fantastic. Poutine looked great too.

Simple menu for a casse-croûte ! The spécial sauce on burgers tested like the big Mac sauce, & personally, I didn't find the burger special. As my hubby says: "c'est rien pour écrire à sa mère !" On the flip sid, the fries were really good! The wait times were not long, the servers were really nice, & the restaurant had crayons for the kids. Overall, cute place but didn't replace my current favourite burger place.
Gotta say, these burgers are the best in all of Montreal. They taste like a much better version of Shake Shack. 100% recommended. Had had during the pandemic, but the lineups were insane, but now that i went back on normal conditions, they are 100% worth the trip. Fries are delicious too, even without ketchup, they taste amazing.
Fun vibes. Got the poutine tousignant which was appropriately packed with beef & bacon. I wish the fries were ever so slightly less soggy from gravy so there would be some crispiness as texture contrast.
I ordered the hot dog tousignant & small poutine - this was an ok poutine, but definitely not my favourite - there was a good balance of fries/cheese/gravy however the gravy had no flavour & the fries were soggy. The hot dog had a good flavour (it was made in-house) but the mayo sauce was very overpowering, the few bites I had with less sauce were great. Poutine 3/5 Hot Dog 4/5
These are true smash burgers. The way they smash the patty & get little crispy bits on the edge of it, mmmm so tasty. I’m gluten sensitive but still had some bites with the bun. Soft, & light bun. It’s more of a vessel than bun. The fries are to die for. No need to order them crispy, as they come PERFECT!
