Cosy little place in Westmount right beside my apartment. I like coming here because it is a down to earth place not too fancy not too crazy. Simple food, delicious meals & I like spending my afternoons over here.
The food was top quality here. If you're looking for a meal that was made with the kind of old fashioned skill that is hard to find these days, this is it. Service was also excellent & the environment is very pleasant without overly loud blaring music, which was much appreciated. I'm only giving 4 stars on the atmosphere because I wish they hadn't modernized the decor so much. If they had kept the old fashioned counter with the stools it would have been perfect.
The clam chowder was everything a chowder should be with a perfectly balanced blend of flavors. The consommé was also full of flavor.

Not like it used to be. Very disappointed. Ordered through Uber eats & got one over salted not so fresh dish, & one incomplete dish, not as described, also not fresh. When I called them about the missing ingredients, they said they'didn't know how to make it because the dish isn't on the menu anymore & they took it off now (after getting my order) & are too busy to call & let me know'. This is a $21 sandwich. If I was there I would be requesting refund. *update after response from restaurant: Nothing was offered as a resolution & there was no concern or care from the person on the phone. If they had taken the issue seriously & offered to resolve it somehow, I would not have left such a review. The presumptuous response on here almost matches the tone I received on the phone & proves that responsibility is not taken at this establishment which is why I won't be coming back.
Chez Nick is the neighborhood place everyone ends up at sooner or later. Great food, a great vibe, & the kind of spot that always feels welcoming.
Special shout-out to Andrew, the friendly face who greeted you at the door for years & a true staple at Chez Nick. Everyone knows Andrew. His charm & personality were a huge part of what made the place feel so warm.

C'est une institution à Westmount. Un véritable Diners plus que centenaire qui sert les grands classiques du brunch, salades variées & goûteuses sans oublier les bons sandwichs etc. Le personnel est charmant. La clientèle est surtout anglophone, mais rassurez-vous, ils peuvent aussi s'adresser à vous en français. Les employés sont chaleureux voir même amicaux sans s'incruster & le patron est toujours présent pour accueillir. Quand à l'ambiance, c'est la convivialité via différentes générations de riverains dans un décor typique de banquettes & de cuir. Ils n'ont pas besoin de publicité, car il y a toujours un peu d'attente à l'entrée. Bref, j'adore & je m'y rends souvent...
The service was truly impeccable. Every member of their staff treats every customer in the building like their own. The spinach in the eggs benedict was watery & not great in taste but everything else was good. The coffee not being included in the breakfast meal & being a little on the pricier side (4$) is a bummer but they are very quick to refill to your heart's desire. I'd absolutely go back just for the service though. The staff were outstanding.

This is a perfect stop for lunch during the midweek when in Westmount. It has a homey atmosphere & friendly, fast service. We had the soup of the day with Reuben sandwiches & sweet potato fries that went down very well!
It was my husband's first time at Chez Nick. I have been there before but many years ago. We we there for lunch today. It was a wonderful experience. Our server was very bubbly & quite funny! We had French Onion soup to start which was delicious. My husband ordered the Chez Nick Club Sandwich & he loved it. I had the Deluxe Grilled Cheese & it was so yummy. Needless to say, we shall return more often!!!
Been coming here for years. Always great service & a warm reception. I try to at least come for the popular Christmas dinner. The place was full & luckily for my son & I, we sat at the counter immediately. You have your choice of main food with the Christmas dinner or the trio. We chose the trio of meatballs, turkey & tortiere. Unfortunately, I seems to get turkey ends & wasn't great but everything else was delicious. Highly recommend. A nostalgic place & style of restaurant that was plentiful in the day but a rarity today.
