A Morning Feast at Chez Mon Grand-père @beitjeddi_mtl. ?If you're looking for a breakfast that feels like a warm hug from a Lebanese grandfather you never knew you had, Chez Mon Grand-père in Montreal is the spot. I'm calling it now: this was easily the best breakfast I've had in a long time. Every dish felt intentional, fresh, & deeply rooted in tradition.
?
?Mixed Maza & Fatoush Salad: We started with the Mixed Maza, which offered a perfect tour of textures & dips. Pairing it with the Fatoush Salad was a pro move the salad was crisp, bright, & had that essential sumac punch & crunch that clears the palate for the heavier hitters.
?Manakish (Cheese & Zaatar): You can't go to a place like this & skip the Manakish. The dough was pillowy & charred in all the right places. The earthy, herbal zaatar balanced perfectly against the salty, melty cheese.
?Fatteh with Meat: This was pure comfort food. The combination of warm chickpeas, creamy tahini-yogurt, & toasted pine nuts topped with savory meat is a texture play that they execute flawlessly here.
?Sunnyside Up Eggs with Confit Lamb: This dish is a game-changer. The eggs were perfectly runny, but the confit lamb stole the show-tender, rich, & meltingly soft. It turns a standard breakfast into a gourmet experience.
?The Real MVPs:
?I need to take a second to talk about the pitas, because they were spectacular. Often, sandwiches are an afterthought at breakfast, but here, they might be the main event.
?Shish Taouk Pita: The chicken was incredibly juicy & marinated to perfection. It wasn't just'good' it was the kind of pita you think about three days later. The garlic sauce (toum) was bold without being overwhelming.
?Beef Shawarma Pita: This was a masterclass in spice & sear. The beef was tender & packed with that signature deep flavor you only get from high-quality shawarma.
This place was such a hidden gem, when we went it was empty & honestly I don't understand why the food was out of this world! Go show them some love & visit please! It's worth the trip it's FOODGASMIC CERTIFIED 💦!
'This Lebanese restaurant offers an amazing variety of traditional dishes like foul, fattet, & manakish. The food is incredibly delicious, bursting with authentic flavors that transport you straight to Lebanon. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy genuine Lebanese cuisine!'
Notre brunch a donc duré 3h30-4h. Nous sommes passés plusieurs fois devant le restaurant depuis & cela semblait moins achalandé. (à noter que nous sommes passés quelques jours après la fin du Ramadan, ce qui peut expliquer l'achalandage)
Absolutely loved the experience here. Must-haves are the foul & chickpeas ("humus"), manakish with zaatar + cheese & lahmajoun. Their bread is made on-site & is feels like air. Also loved their complementary olive & pickled platter, imported from Lebanon. They also have labneh which was not on the menu & perfectly presented with the right portion of olive oil & cucumber. A truly authentic middle eastern breakfast.
One of the best breakfast spots in Montreal. The food is delicious & the place has a very genuine Lebanese vibe which is reflected in the taste. The service is amazing & the staff is very attentive. The portions are generous & I highly recommend zaatar manakish & the fatte. A must try!
Great food with a varied menu, loved that the food is so flavorful. Absolutely loved the Tahini Hummus which was so creamy & delicious! The Lebanese Fatteh is a must as it is an absolutely amazing yogurt dip & highly addictive! The Lahm Ajin Manakish was my fave, the meat is perfectly seasoned & delicious & their pita are so fresh, warm, & pillowy bread. The best is to order a little bit of everything to try a variety of little dishes.
Un bon restaurant pour brunch . Les prix sont abordables. J'ai enlevé une étoile vu que le fatteh libanaise est différente à chaque fois .(texture set gout) Mais les manakish sont très très bonnes .
