We had a lovely lunch here. Our server was so friendly & lovely! She explained the menu to us which helped us with our order. We ordered the muscles marinara, chicken, Caesar salad, salad, & the lasagna. The portions were large & everything was delicious. The white wine we had was perfectly chilled & we had just a lovely experience at Chez Milot.

So it's our 1st visit here. 40+ year reputation to uphold. Started off with mega-martinis but quickly ordered our food as we were limited to a 2 hr window for our reservation. The waiter was disenchanted & took an hour to deliver a caesar salad & tempura shrimp. We asked at the hour mark'was there a problem?' & he gruffly stated we told him to wait until we finished our drinks. We did not. On the complaint the food arrived promptly & we then had to rush through our meal to make room for the next service. In 45 minutes we attempted to get his attention & he never once came to inquire about anything with us. Pity as what arrived was superb & perfectly cooked. My mussels were tender & my partner's filet mignon cooked to absolute perfection. The service left us unimpressed.

Je suis allée 2 années de suite avec des personnes différentes ! & je n'ai pas étée déçue ! Mais je dois avouée que cette année j'ai eu un meilleur service : pas de serveurs arrogants ou condescendants cette année ! Ouf ! Merci ! Nous avons eu 2 charmantes serveuses ! Bon maintenant pour la nourriture : le potage au chou-fleur était très bon ! Le fromage brie frit tout chaud & fondant sur yogourt (crème fraîche) au casis était délectable ! Il parait que la salade mixte était fraîche ! Le filet de sole amandine servit avec riz pilaf & des légumes vapeur variés était savoureux pour moi & une personne qui m'accompagnait ! L'année précédente j'avais pris le magret de canard avec sauce bordelaise & ça aussi c'était très bon ! Pour l'autre personne qui m'accompagnait son entrecôte était tendre & ses frites étaient bonnes ! Attention par contre pour ce qui est de la bavette de boeuf l'année précédente certaines personnes l'avaient choisie & elle était un peu coriace ! Le cocktail chez milot fait à partir de mousseux,jus de canneberges & de curaçao est un vrai délice ! Il paraît que le vin rouge Massi aussi ! Pour le dessert un petit morceau de gâteau au café est savoureux ! L'ambiance est classique ! La table d'hôte est vraiment très intéressante !

My partner & I came at 8pm on Monday. Beautiful
table by the window. The whole resto was lovely. Beautiful artwork. Large group in the other room, but didn't bother us. Our server Kim was superb. The kitchen accommodated is with allowing our 4 appetizers to be courses: carrot & ginger soup (beautiful), poached pears in blue cheese sauce (divine), prawn & scallop in sambuca (it was actually a cream sauce, lovely but now what I was expecting), duck confit salad in raspberry emulsion (lovely salad, but next time I would order just the crispy duck confit). Mains: mussels in green pepper corn & cognac flambé- star of the show (came with FF, a very French concept)! Flambé at table, sauce to die for. Walleye with amandine & hazelnut- tasty but dish was overloaded with sides- rice, beet purée, sautéed veg (I would have preferred a tapas style fish, but it was a main, so I should have checked first). Chew cake for dessert- lovely, homemade, light & fluffy. Overall 5 stars because of service, atmosphere & the food was delicious (if not exactly what I imagined, but that's no fault to the chef).

Cependant j'aimerais qu'une remarque importante soit faite au Chef à qui je remercie le plaisir que j'ai eu à manger chez vous la veille du Jour de l'An. Par contre aux entrées, il a oublié ceux qui n'ont hélas jamais pris le temps d'apprécier la cuisine francaise en tout cas celle dont nous avons été habitués. Faire un choix d'entrée entre endives fromage BLEU, crevettes (pas réussies cette présentation de petite crevettes congelées & faut aimer poisson, fruits de mer) & un carpaccio de boeuf, avouez que c'est pas tout le monde qui mange ca. Perso oui mais pas pour quelqu'un de conventionnel, il est obligé de passer son tour & à 52$ couvert c'est dommage, on veut avoir droit à tout. Vous me direz peut etre qu'il aurait pu demander une salade verte, mais comment se sent-on invité si on est exclus d'un choix d'une table d'hôte à 52$ ? Ce qui m'a tout de même donné la chance de gouter à 2 entrées car moi j'aime les 3 & mon partenaire m'a refilé son assiette...& oui je fais partie de ceux qui ont développé avec le temps le goût aux bonnes choses. Une toute petite chose à améliorer pour une prochaine fois serait appréciée car je le repète j'aime beaucoup votre restaurant & le fréquente depuis 20 ans mais hélas mon partenaire hésite souvent avant de m'y inviter & à chaque fois, il le fait pour me faire plaisir. Il reluque la Spago pour son choix. J'espère fortement que ceci sera pris d'une manière très positive car l'intention est très bonne. Rien ne remplacera votre chaleureuse ambiance & j'aime aussi votre nourriture.
Choix : Escargot – ancien mais ca marche! Autre choix de salade bien garnie mais pas fromage bleu! Prociutto melon, entrées italiennes que tout le monde aime etc . Pas de problème les Chefs sont remplis d'idées. Je signe un 5 étoiles. Fidèlement Mimi P
The service & atmosphere were amazing. They did not have the Belle Emelie red wine in stock. The food was ok. I had the cream of vegetable soup as a starter. Too much of an earthy taste for me. The terrine was very good & came with candied onions & salad. The beef tartare was standard, with same salad as the terrine. The coffee was great, & the cheese cake was good. All in all a great experience.
