Excellente ambiance de brasserie francaise avec cuisine francaise excellente. Mousse de foie de volaille & ensuite Quenelle de brochet sauce Nantua ou tartare de boeuf suivi de Ile flottante ou religieuse au café... aussi bon qu'en France, dans les meilleurs restos, bravo. & service par Alexandre Gagon tres apprecié, courtois, professionel, avec le sens de la repartie!
Pâques : souper ; déçu que le menu annoncé affiché n'était pas disponible le soir & finalement non plus que le menu brasserie ...
Donc, menu à la carte.
Dans ce cadre, serveuse gentille mais manque d'expérience : vins offerts à goûter hum vieux & bouchonnés, lorsque bouteilles choisies servies toujours avec gouttes, un seule petit plat cornichons & petit paté pour 5, ustensiles déposés sans ordre, deuxième étage assez libre mais clients installés tout à côté, & facture avec mauvaise répartition...bref nous avons passé une belle soirée entre amis mais avec ces quelques petits irritants que nous croyons bons de vous mentionner.

Les quenelles & la bouillabaisse étaient réconfortantes, même si elles ne rejoignent pas tout à fait les saveurs authentiques que l'on trouve en France. Cela dit, de ce côté-ci de l'Atlantique, l'adresse demeure une belle option. Si votre palais est nostalgique des goûts français, il vous remerciera certainement de cette halte

A quintessential Montreal stalwart, this is the kind of dining that I think of when I envision this great city. I was wondering how a restaurant can be open for 54 years. The answer? A well-curated menu of French classics with a Montreal spin. House made charcuterie & terrines. Excellent service & a true bistro atmosphere full of locals revelling in food & friendship. We wanted to try it all & ordered too much including the country terrine, racalette, risotto & bouillabaisse with a sauce that was simply melt-in-my mouth divine. I can't wait to dine at LC every time I visit Montreal!
Très bon restaurant français avec un service professionnel & accueillant. Nous avions une réservation & on nous avez assigné au 2e étage mais nous préférions rester au 1er & le maître D nous a bien accommodé ( donc n'oubliez de le mentionner lors de vos réservations vos préférences) . De l'entrée au dessert tout était très bon ( sauf les pâtes bolonaises & la crème brûlée qu'on a moins aimé ) : soupe à l'oignon , terrine campagnard & foie de volaille ( grande portion préférable de partager ) , hareng fumé , escalope de saumon , onglet de boeuf , poisson du moment ( sauce curry ) & profiteroles ( 3 mais énorme & délicieux) . & de plus le menu formule brasserie à 32$ selon les jours de semaine & heure vaut vraiment la peine !
A lot of people think that French Cuisine is expensive. Well, this place is the total opposite. They tried to make it good, focused on quality, friendly portion while remaining affordable. Easy to reserve. Great services & amazing french food. Definitely a go-to place.
It was almost 9pm on a weeknight when hubs & I spontaneously decided to have a nice meal at Leméac as we thought it'd be mellow at this time of night, but when we stepped inside we found it too crowded & noisy for our mood.
I suggested Chez Leveque across the street, which was much more chill. So glad we ended up here instead! Not only were there weeknight table d'tote specials, the service was attentive & top-notch too. I appreciated that they gave me a sample of the salmon tartare before serving it to me, to make sure the spice level was to my liking.
The cocktails were also on special & very good too. Hubs ordered the cod, which was served hot & perfectly cooked, crisp on the outside, & tender on the inside. We had a very pleasant meal & what was great was that the price was very reasonable for such high level quality & service.
Highly recommended. We'll definitely be coming back!
