I feel as though this place is a bit of a hit or miss. My first experience was a little underwhelming, as we paid a lot for a meager sandwich & lackluster breakfast plate.
But I decided to give it another chance for dinner a year later & was blown away with how good the food was! The crepe meals were MASSIVE & delicious. Big plus for the atmosphere, their decor is cute & the patio is lovely in the summer to eat outside.
I knock one star though because the prices are very high for it being a casual restaurant, & we did wait over 40min to receive our food, but the waitstaff was very apologetic & nice about that. The food is also quite greasy.Voir plus

Really cool vibe & cute decor. Great coffee & food. I ordered the Mexican crepe & flavour wise it was delicious but it was far too salty for me that I struggled to finish it. The Portuguese breakfast that my friend got was also good but nothing spectacular. On the weekend there was a short wait for late morning brunch but that was expected so no complaints. Just the cutest little place! The veggie crépe with blue cheese was somehow crispy, fluffy & creamy all at the same time. The chorizo sandwich was unique in how the cheese & meat were fried together. It looked small at arrival, but was very filling. Portions are generous. Espresso & drip coffee were both tasty. The one star reduction for service is because of the accuracy of how long a waitlist is, but wouldn't take off from the total.Voir plus

Went here for dinner on a Thursday night. Genuinely one of the best meals ive had in montreal. Highly recommend the quesadilla. The mexican crepes came recommended from the waiter- my friend got this & loved it. At this time of the day they also have a cocktail & wine list.Voir plus

Unbelievable place! Everyone should go here! The food was some of the best we've had the whole trip here & our server Will made our entire night! Stunning service & such a friendly personality! We went to this place because Duluth has been pedestrianized for the summer & sitting at a terrace enables us to go out to eat with our dog. We chose Chez Jose at random & it was a good choice. I usually don't care for calamari as I find it too tough, but in their seafood soup it was perfect. My wife had a crepe with turkey, cream sauce & blue cheese that was delicious. I had a warm nata for dessert & we both had Portuguese coffees. & our waitress was excellent, really on the ball.Voir plus
My boyfriend & I were visiting the City & we were just searching for places to eat brunch, & Cafe Jose came across. & google reviews didn't disappoint. My boyfriend had the Portuguese Breakfast & I had Mexican Crepe breakfast if I'm not mistaken & it was soooo goood & fulfilling. & we had egg tart for dessert, & I had mokkachino. I had been looking for a breakfast/brunch place that servers something different & unique than regular brunch places which all serve mostly variation of the same thing- just eggs, crepes/waffles/or toasts. The portugese breakfast here was delicious. There are plenty of vegan options as well. The vibe was cool, staff were super friendly & the the menu was aptly priced. Will return for sure.Voir plus

First off, the outdoor seating is so pleasant & so was the staff. The breakfast sandwich was super packed & flavorful, & the potatoes were cooked to perfection. Our favorite was the Mexican crepe, which was also super flavorful & had nice crispy edges. What made it really stand out was its masterful pairing with their homemade guac & slaw. Un endroit vraiment rare de nos jours. Des assiettes ultra copieuses & variées. La clientèle y est très sympathique, les gens se parlent d'une table à l'autre. Un petit microcosme hyper chaleureux, genre restaurant remonté moral...;) Le serveur William était vraiment très drôle, il nous a fait rire de façon très naturel & nous a bien conseillé côté menu. Le genre d'endroit où l'on veut revenir très souvent. Pas étonnant que ça fait un siècle que ça existe. Had a late night dinner here. Didn't even look at the menu but just trusted in the recommendations & was not disappointed. Had a Mexican style crepe that was phenomenal. Dessert was a Portuguese tart that I recommend not using the provided spoon. Just grab & eat in with your hands. So delicious & worth a little mess on your hands.Voir plus
