Absolutely loved Chez Greenberg. We stopped in for breakfast sandwiches & ended up having one of the best coffee experiences I've had in Montreal.
I had the chance to meet Jake, the owner, who personally recommended the cortado. He described the coffee in two simple words:'chocolaty & nutty.' He told me how his uncle helps him source their own blend, & you can genuinely taste the care that goes into it.
The cortado was amazing. Rich, smooth, perfectly balanced, with those chocolate & nutty notes coming through beautifully. If you appreciate good coffee, you need to try it.
The breakfast sandwiches were excellent too. Fresh, flavorful, satisfying, & exactly what we were looking for.
What really made the experience special was Jake himself. Friendly, passionate & genuinely excited about what they're creating at Chez Greenberg. You can tell this place has a story & a lot of heart behind it.
Great food, amazing cortado, & wonderful hospitality. Easy 5 stars. I'll definitely be back.
Highly recommend this place: delicious food, great aesthetics, & really kind staff! The bagel dishes are superb. I visited on my first day in Montreal & was very kindly given a detailed itinerary by the staff (Clara & Lucy) for my travels, it was very heartwarming !!
Really friendly place. All the waiters were super helpful & seemed genuinely happy to work there. Everything his home made. The salmon is a must try. We even had a chat with the owner about his merch. He took the time to answer every questions. Went back the week after.

Have lived in the area for 8 months & finally went in to try Chez Greenberg. I got the whitefish bagel sandwich, & it was delicious! I loved the texture & tobiko additions. Super friendly owner. Large & inviting space. Coffee was also great. Options for both takeout & dine-in. Don't be shy, go on in!
Chez Greenbery has a lot of great things going for it. As many reviews before mine note, Jake is a really pleasant human being that makes customers feel valued & welcomed. He was enthusiastic to chat with me before I ordered since it wasn't busy up front. The atmosphere is comfy, with lots of pictures & displays relating to Jewish culture. The BLC sandwich was delicious. They have an impressive selection of cream cheese flavours, myself going for the nutty one. I have to say though, at over $20 total, as tasty as the topped bagel was, was not worth it. Every single bite amounts to about a couple of dollars, which is insanely pricy. It was worth trying once though.
Stopped in for my first time to grab a coffee before my commute, the man behind the cash was super friendly & even had the barista prioritize my order so I'd make my bus. & the cortado is delicious! Thanks so much, can't wait to try the food dine in next time :)
Coffee is terrible. Food is overpriced for the quality & portion offered. Service is defined by ignorant hostesses & their mean girl behaviour toward other women.
Nous avons commandé le plateau de Bubbie pour un pique-nique d'équipe & tout était délicieux: les bagels encore chauds, des salades & tartinades exquises & généreuses & que dire du saumon fumé maison…le clou du spectacle! Nous avons même poussé l'audace jusqu'à commander des knish aux pommes pour terminer ce repas, un vrai délice.
