I went for a poutine at lunchtime. The fries are perfect but it stops there. The cheese is refrigerated & not fresh so it melts & really affects the flavour & texture. The gravy has a nice thick feel but it fell a bit flat on flavour.
The place is an institution & I bet other food is delicious. It's just not the spot if you're looking for the best poutine in the city.

Service is top notch & pricing is decent.

Chez Claudette was recommended by a local friend when we asked the best place to try an authentic poutine while travelling the city. It did not disappoint! The selection of poutines were diverse & all sounded delicious. The poutines themselves had delicious cheese curds with a delightful squeak, the gravy was perfectly savoury, & the fries were perfectly salted & crisp. The staff were also very accommodating with our limited French skills. I would highly recommend Chez Claudette.

This place is truly a hidden gem. I honestly haven't found anything that comes close to it. Without a doubt, they serve the BEST POUTINE IN MONTREAL.
While I haven't had the chance to try everything on the menu yet, I've had quite a few dishes, & every single one has been phenomenal. You can really tell that the food is made with care & passion.
A huge part of what makes this restaurant special is the chef. He's been there since the very beginning, & after years of visiting, I'm always impressed by how consistent the quality & taste remain. That's something you don't find often.
On top of the amazing food, everyone who works there is incredibly friendly & welcoming. They make you feel right at home every time you visit.
I absolutely love this place & will keep coming back. Highly recommended!

As other recent reviews have pointed out, the fries need to be a little bit crispier for the poutine. We also had another variation with meat & onions which was a lot tastier.

Order the regular poutine & the Celine poutine. Gravy was good, but wished the fries were a bit crisper. Smoked meat paired well with the poutine & gave it more flavour.

Noone else in the restaurant ordered a couple of poutines. There was so much hype online about the place & truth is i tried about 8 poutines in montreal & ruebens has been the only good one. So i made the trip all the way to chez claudette in hopes of a great poutine.
Unfortunately the fries were barely cooked, gravy was ok, & not alot of cheese at all. I understand if it was busy but we were the only ones there. Will not be back

This was an excellent excellent experience. We stopped by for lunch on our way out of Mtl & had the best time grabbing brunch here. There were 3 of us including a toddler. They didnt have high chairs however we got seated at a spacious booth style seating. The staff were gems! They were so sweet & kind to us. They were sweet with my child & it made our time here comfortable. The food was so tasty, this is the best poutine ive ever eaten. The fries were crispy, & we got a regular petit dejouner as well as a classique poutine avec peas & sautéed onions. Just fantastic. We got over medium eggs & they were cooked to perfection. Magnificent!!!

My first ever poutine during this short trip! I got the poutine classique (grande size), nice experience trying it out for the first time. Also enjoyed looking around the interior. Staff was nice & friendly too.

I came here based on a local recommendation, & it was a great choice!
