We stopped into Chez Claudette to try their highly recommended poutine. With no shortage of options on the menu, we did our best to navigate it with our limited French since there wasn't an English menu available. We ended up ordering the smoked chicken poutine. While I would've loved to get more adventurous, my partner prefers to stick to the basics. The food was okay. The gravy was flavorful, & the cheese curds had the satisfying squeak you hope for, but the chicken was just average, & the fries were softer & soggier than we would have liked but the prices were reasonable & fair. The atmosphere was reminiscent of a casual pizza or Italian takeout spot, nothing remarkable, but clean enough. Service was average as well

Chez Claudette? ✅. Est que l'endroit vaut le détour? Pas spécialement mais si vous etes dans le coin & que vous avez faim pour une poutine pourquoi pas! Service sans prétention & sympathique, poutines honnêtes assez généreuses, décor suranné qui fait partie de l'expérience. Attention la sauce vege est moins gouteuse & plus liquide que la la sauce traditionnelle, pour les végétariens, l'option reste interessante.
Gosh! I can only say kind things about this place. Portions & price were fantastic. We needed to have some poutine while we were in town & this was definitely the spot to do that!
J'ai demandé à la serveuse si le hamburger était fait maison, mais elle a prétendu ne pas comprendre ma question, affirmant qu'elle n'avait jamais entendu une telle demande. Finalement, elle a répondu que oui, c'était fait maison. Cependant, j'étais avec cinq autres personnes, & nous avions des doutes, car le burger avait clairement le goût de viande industrialisée, loin d'être fraîche. Alors, pas vrm une bonne expérience pour moi.
Excellent poutine! I went with the classic since it was my very first one. Good fries, squeaky cheese, well-seasoned sauce & no insane wait times... what else could you ask for? Our server was friendly (in English & French) & efficient. Will definitely visit again if in the area again.

Pire poutine à Montréal, trop de sauce, pas assez de fromage & la sauce est fade. En plus, le pulled pork était aussi sec, fade & collait sur les dents. Très décevant.
Chez Claudette is such a delightful spot & truly a must-visit for any foodie in Montreal! The charming exterior welcomes you inside, where you'll find a menu filled with delicious & super affordable comfort food classics-from hot dogs to hamburger steak to lasagna. But let's talk about the real star here: their poutines! They serve up the best poutine ever, with crispy fries, rich savory gravy, & just the right amount of cheese curds. It's a dream come true for poutine & fries lovers! I couldn't resist trying the "Grilled Chicken" poutine topped with bacon, along with a fluffy egg omelet, & oh boy, it was absolutely heavenly! The portions are generous, too, without breaking the bank. The service is fantastic, & the dining area is clean & spacious, making it such a pleasant experience. If you ever find yourself in Montreal, you absolutely owe it to yourself to stop by. I can't wait to go back on my next trip!

For me, the Poutine was incredibly good! So I can really recommend this place. Service is ok. Don't expect to much kindness, especially when your not a local😉
Perfect spot for a late evening meal that will put you to sleep soon after. Chez Claudette is a classic institution for a heart-warming poutine that will absolutely melt your face off. Their sauce contains whole peppercorns that add a lovely kick with every other bite.
A great place for brunch. Service was excellent but we had a bit of trouble because our French is practically non-existent. Could not tip at the end because of the rush & my partner is feeling intense guilt because of that.
Very cozy place, amazing food, quick service, adequate prices, the waitress takes care of you as if she was your grandma. Was able to find a spot without having to queque. Sincere recommendation!
