About us
It all started in 2009 when they met at a restaurant on Laurier Street. Their common passions quickly brought them together and united them at work as well as in a beautiful friendship. With 22 years of experience, Louis is a veteran in restauration. At the time, he quickly saw Felix's potential in the field. With his curiosity, skills and ambition Felix probably reminded him of himself that age. Inseparable since then, their passion for good food and good wine led them to create a restaurant that reflects their image. A dream come true: Chez BOSS & fils.

A Wonderful First Experience at Boss & Fils in Verdun
I've been wanting to try Boss & Fils for a while, & I'm so glad I finally did! What a gem of a place tucked in the heart of Verdun. As soon as you walk in, you feel immediately welcomed; it has that cozy, family-run restaurant vibe that makes you feel at home.
We kicked things off with oysters, & wow, they were incredibly fresh. As a first-timer, I decided to try something new & paired them with smoked jalapeno instead of my usual minette or tabasco. I was blown away; the smoky heat was just sublime & really elevated the oysters to a whole new level.
For appetizers, we had the foie gras, which was absolutely divine, & the poached egg with asparagus; a perfect combination of flavors. For our main courses, I had the scallops, which were cooked to perfection, & my friend went for the steak, which was also amazing. The flavors were on point, everything was perfectly seasoned, & you could tell they use only high-quality ingredients.
Don't hesitate to ask the staff (or the owner) for a wine recommendation; they know their stuff! The wine pairing he suggested was spot on & complemented our meal beautifully.
To top it all off, we had the strawberry tartlette & chocolate brownie for dessert. While both were delicious, the chocolate brownie truly stole the show. It melted in your mouth & had the perfect balance of richness & sweetness; absolutely unforgettable.
The family & staff were so friendly & genuinely passionate about the food they serve. You can tell they put a lot of care into their dishes, especially since they use seasonal ingredients. I'll definitely be returning often!

This was one of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had. From as soon as we walked in until we left. "The Boss" greeted us at the door & told us our table would be ready soon ( we were early). As we waited, he brought a bottle of prosecco for us to sip on. Once seated, the waiter was amazing, the wine list was great, & the food was to die for. The atmosphere is like no other, & the experience while there was one for the books. I will definitely be going back, & I suggest anyone reading this chooses to go eat here. Definitely worth it!View more

The Best Restaurant I've Ever Been to in Montréal! A huge shoutout to the impeccable service. The waitstaff was always attentive, ensuring our wine & water were always topped up without us ever needing to ask. There's no traditional wine list, but the chef will pair each dish with a carefully chosen wine at a reasonable price. We genuinely felt like we were dining at home, especially with Boss & his super sweet wife serving us-such a warm, personal touch that made the experience even more special! Here's what we had: 1-Tartare - Fresh & delicious! The dish featured a sweet, lemony syrup in little dots on the plate-don't skip them, as they elevate each bite. I did feel the tartare could've been a bit less sour, letting the fish's natural flavor shine through a bit more. 2-Octopus - Absolutely exceeded expectations! The dish had an incredible balance of flavors, & I was amazed at how subtly bell peppers complemented the octopus without overpowering it. I'll definitely order this again. 3-Côte de Boeuf - A generous plate meant to be shared. The mashed potatoes were rich & creamy, & the gravy was light-perfect for complementing the steak. & speaking of the steak... it was divine. Plus: Octopus is great Private import wines Laid back atmosphere Food presentation is excellent Minus: Scallops & shrimp donut (expensive option on the menu) were disappointing. Mostly the shrimp donut was too doughy for my taste. I wish I took the braised beef The sommelier chooses the wine for you, not possible to see a list, not much room for discussion about wine preferences. Didn't know the price of wine we took either (they said between 52 & 58 & one of them was 60). We did enjoy the wines we got The staff was nice & all but the waitress on a Thursday night was a little dictatorial. We went to this restaurant for my fiancé's birthday. The service was really great. The owners are passionate, knowledgeable & really courteous. But Boss & Fils really shines for its food. Awesome mix of tastes, amazing presentation. It was delicious! Good wine as well.
It was the perfect birthday diner! I'm really happy to have this restaurant near where I live! If you pass near Verdun, stop there!

Nous sommes allés chez Boss & Fils pour l'anniversaire de mon fiancé. Le service était excellent! Les propriétaires sont chaleureux, passionés & vraiment courtois. La nourriture vaut vraiment le détour. Excellent agencement de saveurs & très belle présentation. Les portions sont juste parfaites. C'était délicieux! La carte des vins valait la peine aussi!
C'était le souper d'anniversaire parfait! Je suis très heureuse d'avoir ce restaurant près de chez moi! Si vous passez par Verdun, alley y faire un tour!
