I have been going to Alexandre for almost 50 years now. It is definitely an Montreal Institution. Great food, wonderful French ambiance & everyone there is so friendly. It is a place to see & be seen!! Alain is a wonderful host.

Food is good. Only problem is the service. Those 3 waitress were just gossiping behind us & didn't pay attention to their customers. We finished our main course & waited 10 mins but still nobody came. My husband had to stand up & waive them to get their attention. Also, they forgot what we ordered twice during the meal. Hope the owner can improve this.

Just found this gem. Was looking for a place to smoke my cigars since Stogies was temporarily closed on that night. They have a nice cozy cigar lounge upstairs. Well ventilated. My next visit will be, supper & then finish the night with a couple of cigars & a few glasses of scotch.

I always come here when visiting. Locals come here & was recommended to me by a local. It feels authentic, a neighborhood joint. Food is very solid. The staff are nice but definitely in charge. Feels like this place has been open for a long time. If you're looking for a place that's not too packed to stop in & get some steak frites, this is it.

Le potage Crécy était si réconfortant & délicieux & parfait en cette froide journée d'hiver! Le tartare de boeuf qu'on nous a d'abord présenté en dégustation pour affirmer notre préférence était parfait & était offert selon la tradition avec des frites dorées croustillantes. L'entrecôte était tendre & la sauce aux champignons qui l'accompagnait était douce & onctueuse.
L'offre des vins est limitée, mais les choix offerts sont suffisants. Ils sont classiques & bien harmonisés aux mets présentés sur le menu. Le pain n'est malheureusement pas aussi satisfaisant que tout le reste que nous avons grandement apprécié.
Les classiques de bistro français réalisés comme on les souhaite, le décor typique, l'accueil & le service contribuent à notre volonté d'y retourner avec la famille & les ami°e°s.
Merci encore pour la chaleur humaine & le réconfort d'un bon repas chez vous.

Malgré l'agréable attention portée aux clients, la cuisine n'est pas à la hauteur. L'ambiance est digne d'une brasserie mais la nourriture se rapproche plus d'un bar PMU que d'un restaurant.

C'est une bonne brasserie, cuisine française! Le patron est très accueillant & sympathique avec une équipe très professionnelle & agréable.
Le cadre est avenant, nous y avons été pour le souper du 24 déc avec un menu associé pour l'occasion, celui-ci était bon, seul bémol...j'ai trouvé qu'il n'était pas assez copieux & le dessert trop succint (avec un fond de crème anglaise, enfin qui y ressemblait...) & pas à la hauteur du repas...c'est dommage c'est pour ça que je ne mettrai que 3 stars pour la cuisine! J'ai aussi trouvé ça trop cher par rapport à la qualité & à d'autres restaurants du même type où nous avons été...mais bon je mets tout de même 3 stars pour l'ensemble de la prestation.

Le service de Martin Labelle était impeccable. L'endroit est accueillant & classique. Cela faisait plusieurs années que nous n'y étions allés, le restaurant est demeuré une référence de qualité. Suggestion pour le vin...en plein dans le mille

Me & my husband went there for our wedding anniversary. My husband who worked in a hotel close by would always send clients there & would always get very positive reviews . You will not be disappointed! Very good food , very clean place , & the service is excellent . You could see that this restaurant is run with lots of passion & love . Will definitely become one of our favorite places

We were sat down in between two tables that were already occupied, felt like a meat in a sandwich. I understand it's helps servers to serve better & keep track of there tables, but it was weird, bcoz there was less than few inches of distance between & the person seated behind me, you can literally hear other people talk in your ear bcoz of that. &, the tablecloth isn't it outdated already, but maybe we can try to keep it clean, but the table I was seated at, was stained, they need to try harder to keep up to keep it clean. The drinks were super expensive for the experience you get.
But the drinks were good, that's for sure. Also, they need to increase the volume of the music a bit, bcoz I can hear people more than the music.

First thing first all I could give this restaurant four stars, but since they charged us nine dollars for a plastic bottle of water which is less than one dollar in the grocery store & it doesn't make sense to me I'll give them three stars. Now we're growing your head for the overview: We had five course meal dinner at this restaurant the starters we're OK but the fish one was not to my taste then we had foie gras which was good quality & the other dish was made by avocado was tasting OK. The waitress forgot that we only received three courses & she thought that we are we have to go ahead for payment & we reminded her that we hadn't take our main & dessert. As our main we had risotto which was made with saffron, I was tasting very good & the other dish which was with me mashed potato, & some vegetables was tasting good as well. As dessert, I loved both when I was taking them together. I was different taste, which I loved.
