The grilled chicken & lamb were very tender & well seasoned with complex yet complimentary flavors
The rice was fluffy & delicious with a little Jollof rice feel & texture
Very rude staff. I ordered a beef shawarma & clearly confirmed it twice, but the employee kept confusing it with a kebab. My friend ordered a shawarma as well & was also given a kebab without confirmation.
He refused to acknowledge that they were different items with different prices, claiming he had given us a'better one.' He accused us of caring about the money, threw a few coins on the counter, & asked,'What do you want me to do?' He even told us to call 911.
If you make a mistake, you should admit it & apologize. This was about receiving what we ordered & being treated with basic respect. Extremely unprofessional.
EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE. My friend & I visited this restaurant on Tuesday evening, August 25, & what happened was honestly unacceptable.
I ordered a beef shawarma & clearly stated that when placing my order. However, the staff member entered a more expensive beef kebab instead, without asking me or confirming the change. When my friend was ordering, she also intended to order a shawarma, but the same staff member steered her toward kebab instead. He then asked about fries or drinks, which made her think they might be included. Only after I asked did we find out that these were additional charges, so she declined them.
When we received our food, we noticed that the total did not match what we had intended to order. I went back to ask about the receipt, & the same staff member immediately told me that he had ordered a kebab for me. I told him clearly that I had asked for beef shawarma. Instead of simply acknowledging the mistake, he repeatedly argued that shawarma & kebab were'the same,' just prepared differently, & even claimed that he had given me a'better' option. He also insisted that he had asked me whether I wanted kebab, which I completely disagreed with.
What made this experience even worse was his attitude. I was not concerned about the small price difference whatsoever. I even told him directly that I did not care about the money. What I wanted was simple: clear communication, an honest transaction, & an apology when a mistake was made.
Instead, he kept arguing, making excuses, & trying to justify what had happened. At one point, he even offered to give each of us a small amount of cash back. But that completely missed the point. The money was never the issue. The issue was the lack of accountability.
What concerns me most is the pattern of behavior during the ordering process. When a customer is unfamiliar with the menu, staff should help clarify the options, not steer the customer toward a more expensive item without clearly confirming what they actually want. A few cents may not matter financially, but the principle absolutely does.
& when the customer notices the issue afterward, the appropriate response is not to argue that the more expensive item is'better' or that it is'basically the same.' If I order one item, I should receive the item I ordered, or at the very least be asked before being charged for something else.
We ultimately threw the food away because the entire experience had become so unpleasant.
I am attaching our receipts so the orders & prices can be seen clearly. Mistakes happen. What matters is how you handle them. A simple'I'm sorry, I made a mistake' would have ended this entire situation. Instead, we received excuses, arguments, & an unnecessary attitude over something that could have been resolved in 30 seconds.
I don't expect perfection from a restaurant. I expect honesty, basic respect, & accountability. Unfortunately, we experienced none of those here.
First experience wasn't great. I've come back a couple times since & my experience was better later on.. Seems like experience here varies depending on who is working.
If this is supposed to be Adana kebab, then I'll change my name… Absolutely terrible. I can only say the high rating & reviews are very misleading. It's also way overpriced for what you get. In short, don't make the same mistake we did.
Maybe their doner is good - I didn't try it, although I saw a lot of people ordering it - but the plate we had was awful.
This place genuinely made me happy. The Turkish food was so good, it really felt like eating a homemade meal. The owner was incredibly kind & welcoming, & that made the experience feel even more special. I left full, happy, & already wanting to come back.
