Quality is always top tier & their service is excellent. Highly recommend!
The place looks nice, but honestly the food doesn't really match the name Chef Istanbul, It's not terrible, but if you've ever tried real Turkish food, you can feel the difference right away. The taste & quality could be much better it's missing that authentic Turkish flavor.
The place is nice & clean, & the food is good. However, there are other Turkish restaurants in Montréal with stronger & more authentic flavors. Still, it's a decent experience overall
It used to be one of the best places for Turkish food couple of years ago but nowadays it was so disappointed. The food was super cold.
Good place for authentic Turkish food! The dishes are flavorful & well prepared, the portions are generous, & the atmosphere is very welcoming. The staff are friendly & attentive, & everything feels fresh & quality. Definitely a place I'd recommend if you love Turkish cuisine
The best food taste & service in my 20 years as a chef, I am a chef by myself the best food Turkish I had in my life presentation taste service excelente chef Estefano please come to taste the authentic flavour from turkeys . Best of best in town🥰😍👍🏻👌🏻
Awesome taste of the food. Very healthy meal options. Complimentary turkish kehwa, turkish bread. Amazing food. Mr. Abbas served us very nicely. Highly recommended in Montreal. Baklawa was also tasty.
Really delicious turkish food. We are going there every week. I recommend it for sure
One of the best halal restaurants in Montréal. Quick service, reasonably priced food & delicious meals. If you order the Turkish'burger' it is very tasty both chicken & lamb I believe for 9.99. I went with one of that & also the plate for 15.99 which was also good. Filling food so you won't leave hungry, satisfying experience & quick service. Oh & the seating area is nice too have plenty of space upstairs which is where I sat with 2 other people. Highly recommend if in downtown Montréal
The cashier is super friendly, & offered us extra bread & Turkish tea (which tasted amazing btw), would definitely revisit & recommend to friends ☺?
Was excited to see a new Turkish grillhouse pop up in the neighbourhood as I am very fond of Turkish food. The prices seemed a bit high for a casual, takeout restaurant. So I opted for a sandwich. There were no customization options. The sandwich I received was overly toasted, burnt at the edges with a sad amount of toppings. Really was not worth the dollars. I might have had a better experience if I went for the platter which was about twice the price.
2025 update: I've come back a couple times since & my experience was much better the second time. Third time was better than first time but not as good as the 2nd time. Seems like experience here varies depending on who is working.
Unforgettable Turkish Dining Experience 🇹🇷✨
I can't say enough good things about this place! 🤩 I wanted to end my winter vacation in Canada on a high note, & after passing by a few times, I finally decided to give it a try. Let me tell you-I'm so glad I did!
🔥 A First-Time Turkish Food Experience to Remember 🔥
I had never tried Turkish food before, & this was my first experience. But after tasting these incredible flavors, I now want to book a trip to Istanbul just to relive this meal again! (Though first, I have a flight back to L.A. at 12 PM 🛫).
🥩 What I Ordered:
• Filet Mignon Plate - Cooked to perfection, so tender & flavorful!
• Turkish Tea ☕? - Smooth, aromatic, & deeply comforting.
• Kunafa 🧀🍯 - I saw it on a nearby table & couldn't resist. It was crispy, cheesy, & soaked in syrupy goodness!
💫 Beyond the Food - Exceptional Hospitality 💫
What truly made this visit special was the warm & inviting service. The staff here are incredibly kind, welcoming, & friendly-the kind of hospitality that makes you feel at home.
Even after our meal, the cashier went out of their way to recommend a nearby market so I could buy some of that amazing Turkish tea to take home with me. That level of thoughtfulness goes a long way!
🥲 Only One Regret…
The only thing that made me sad? They don't open early enough for me to grab one last meal before my flight! I wish I had more time to enjoy another plate before heading back home.
💯 Final Thoughts:
This meal reignited my love for Montréal, & while I'm excited to go back to L.A., I'm already missing this place! If you've read this far-do yourself a favor & try this spot! You won't regret it! 😍🔥
Nice place with good people & tasty authentic Turkish food. Reminds me of the times I was in Istanbul..
Chef Istanbul serves authentic Turkish food in downtown Montreal. Their freshly baked bread & juicy grilled meats, like the flavorful Adana kebab, are even better than what experienced in Turkey & Germany! The lentil soup is a comforting classic, & everything is served fresh & fast. With friendly service, delicious menus, & large portions at reasonable prices, it's the perfect go-to for a casual yet satisfying meals.
I don't have enough good stuff to say about this place! I wanted to end my Canada winter vacation on a high note & passed by here a few times. I finally decided to give this place a try. I've never had Turkish food before. This is my first experience & it makes me want to travel to Istanbul to relive the flavors I've just experienced. (Got a flight back to L.A at 12pm) I've ordered the filet mignon plate & then ordered tea & the kunafa after seeing a table next to us with it. More than the food, the service here was very inviting, nice, & very friendly. I absolutely love the food! The flavor! Just outstanding! On our way back to our hotel, the cashier directed me to the nearby market so I can get the wonderful tea myself. My only disappointment is that they're not open early enough for us to get a bit before the flight. The food & tea here helped put a little extra pep in my step & have me so excited about Montréal again, but sad to go back home tomorrow. If you've read up this far, please give this place a try.
So lovely. The food quality is great & people working there are so friendly & lovely & passionate. It was a lovely experience! Also when I was waiting for my order they brought me Turkish tea which was awesome ♥️
This is the best Turkish food in Montreal -- hands down! I've eaten here many times, & have come to learn that I can't just buy the kebab; but I have to get the homemade fries & sauce too; & enjoy it with some cold ayran & hot çay --- now that's a whole experience that I wasn't brave enough to have in just one sitting. It's an'eat-in' & a'take-out' kind of meal. May God richly bless the restaurant owner(s), & staff, for always providing quality food & service! 🙏🏼😋🤩😁
The location & atmosphere is great, but the taste & service is questionable. First of all, Lahmacun is not crispy, & too thick. This is the usual issue of Turkish restaurants in Montreal. They still couldn't make a crispy thin Lahmacun. It is like a "Kiymali Pide" but tasty. Make it thinner, crispier, it is possible with pizza ovens, you just need to work on it. Secondly döner. Why you keep it calling it Shawarma in a "Cuisine Turque" restaurant. Looks like you had the döner, tantuni (even innovative Tantuni Iskender) in your old menu, but it is no longer existing. Döner assiette (it was promoted as Swarma) was an average swarma as its best, not bad, & soft, but not good looking. Prices are not cheap, & service was slow. Propapably will not come back unless they figure it out crispy Lahmacun & thinly sliced juicy & tender döner. I have visited more than 6 or 7 Turkish restaurants in Montreal, & have to admit most of them are disappointing. Will keep looking though. Guys, do it the original way please!
