I don't live in the Verdun area, but I still go out of my way to enjoy my favorite poutine at Casse-Croûte Normand.
The food is great, the service is impeccable, & the new owner has done an excellent job preserving the restaurant's charm.

I love that they put the cheese & gravy on the side as I hate warm pieces of cheese & they did exactly that. I wasn't a huge fan of their gravy but it goes with their fries if it makes sense. Would eat again for sure.View more

Had the bacon poutine & all you need to know is that you have to dig through a thiccccc layer of cheese & bacon before you even see a single fry which, by the way, are perfect. Once you've entered (that's right, entered) the poutine, it becomes a well balanced mix of what a poutine should be. No overuse of any ingredient, not stingy with cheese or gravy, really hits the spot. Interior is exactly what you'd expect a casse croute to look like - you don't change what ain't broke.
